Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My class are all doing their coursework on Islam. We have library books but I want to recommend some websites for them too. Does anyone know of any good websites?

There are literally tons of websites that are good for islam. In terms of basic information the bbc.co.uk website is ALWAYS good for R.E. http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/islam/
Handouts or independent study for the more capable students.

Personally I am an advocate of incorporating short video clips and have acumulated a couple over the years. This is one that I occasionally use that is online.

Incidentally the mosque in clonskeagh is an amazing resource for teaching Islam. The people there are exceptionally friendly and are more than used to giving tours for JCRE.

In terms of methodologies, group work with a presentation on pillars of faith is good or preparing a halal meal etc.

I personally prefer teaching Judaism for the in-depth study so the stuff I would have on Islam is limited.

    Good luck and have fun!
