PC upgrade- Is this a good deal?

Hi,
I want to upgrade my PC, Motherboard, Memory and processor only.
My budget is around 500 euro (or less!) and I probably want an I7 processor (Unless you can think off better option?)

Hmm, I'd prefer faster processor, cheaper motherboard? I'll mainly be playing flight sim X Which is processor hungry.
Is their much of a jump up in terms of performance between the I5 and I7?

The older i7-960 is actually jump down in performance on the i5-2500k (while not an exact match the i7-965 used in the comparison below is close enough).

Even the more expensive i7-2600K does little or no better in games than the i5-2500k so it is an ideal gaming chip.

I dont care about SLI, so I can replace the motherboard with this one right?

The extreme 4 is a lot better than the Asus but the Pro 3 is a fine board too if it's just one graphics card that you want.

Ok, I'm going for this setup, I dont need SLI so I'll go for the Pro3 Motherboard.
