Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Involuntary Fixie Rider

I got a puncture on my way into work this morning, probably due to the post-flood detritus. I fixed it under a tree in Fairview Park.

It was the first time I had punctured on my singlespeed and (while congratulating myself on remembering to bring a wrench for the track nuts) I paid a lot of first-timer attention to getting the chain tension right when putting the wheel back on.

I went on my way until I reached the gates at the other end of Fairview Park. As I slowed down, my pedals attacked me. It took me a few seconds to realise what I had done.

I couldn't be arsed switching it back so I rode the rest of the way fixed. The oddness of it means that I'll probably leave it that way for a while just to get the hang of it. I tried the pedal resistance braking thing and found it utterly useless. I plan to put my trackstand-fu to the test. I haven't a clue.

Now, how do I accidentally get some hipsters and a douche?

Could you borrow a fedora off someone in work? I don't see how you could cycle home without one.

That shall be the name of my new band. A whole new lifestyle is coming together.

I thought I felt a disturbance in the Force.

What is this 'lunch' of which you speak? I have removed myself from the tyranny of the timepiece by jacking in my job.

Like my hub, there's no going back.

People who eat lunch don't get to wear skinny jeans!

pull&bear sell skinny jeans with elastic interwoven with the cotton/denim. Ive gone thru 3 pairs in a year because they wore out at the crotch from high rpm! got them on sale, they are great jeans for cycling, tho they dont last very long

I won't ask how you ended up over there.

After an iffy ride home, I have flipped it. It was one-day thing. Like Ulysses but harder to understand.

What is it this year? Down tube shifters? If it is, I'm in fashion. Though I want rid of them.
