Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I would never do that. I read a massive spoiler. Not sure if it was true but luckily I have completely forgotten what it was now.

One thing I will say and this is no way spoilerish, but one of the first big missions you do is better than any of the main missions you do towards the end of the previous GTA's.

Cheers! How do you find the general movement of the characters? Like GTA IV? One small niggle I had with that game was that doing everything with Niko felt really slow (probably for "realism") compared to older GTA games.

Oh cruel gods why do you mock me?

Should probably load the PS3 up and get the mandatory install done now anyway, if you have the time of course.

    That's the plan.

    And smell the manual

Mixture of the two. We had to spread the load out. All signed for orders will be with Nightline though.

Unrelated to GTA V question but a question anyway, have you sold all Xbox One's out on your website or have you even put them up yet? Have one preordered on Gamestop, but I'm probably going to cancel it.

    Weird things are happening today.

ust got a dodgy scam e-mail from a @yahoo.com e-mail address claiming to be USPS telling me: "Our company` s courier cann` t make the delivery of parcel." [sic] because of "wrong postal code" then telling me to print the "attachment" for more details. Also charging $9.99 every day "I" don't collect it.

Weirdest thing of all is that I checked the send recipients and none of my email addresses are listed making me wonder how it even got to my inbox. Though, they are getting more creative as the days go on those scammers.

E-mails like this aren't very nice, especially on days like this. :pac:

Haha genius to send a scam courier email today! Some of the queues around the country looked mental. Sickend seeing people on FB getting trophies in this. Cmon postman. God bless the ability to work from home.

nice some spoilers towards the end of the thread

Exactly. I don't mind little things like new planes or anything, but when these muppets are just sharing the start of the game etc. just because they already have it (and must assume everyone else does) it just gets out of hand. I do not even want the smallest most inane parts of the game storyline spoilt, whether it be the beginning, middle or end.

My xbox wont let the thing install after 800mb goes by...it keeps restarting. May have a GTAV for sale soon

Ok took out the harddrive and put it back. So far so good.

Tubridy talking about GTA V now. 'the game where you steal cars and murder prostitutes....because that's the craic' haha He has a guy on who was at a midnight launch.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,835 ✭✭✭✭cloud493

Got it installed and that, then went to bed. No point playing at 3am and I had to be up at 6 :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 516 ✭✭✭shamelessidiot

I live about 15 minutes away from the nightline depot, it was scanned onto the van at 08:01:19, I wonder why it's not here yet. Wish I had've just drove over and tried to collect it there. Couriers are usually around here (haven't dealt with Nightline yet though) at 1030-1400 in past experiences, so I hope it's no later than that at least.

Actually I haven't found tubs piece to annoying. He's just letting your man talk and is now saying he might give it a go. Fair enough

  • Registered Users Posts: 50 ✭✭Kudros

Queued at 11.30 last night, large queue in front of me, but fair play to gamestop once 12 pm hit it moved along v quickly, and was home and installing it at 25 past 12. Only played about 40mins or so, but loved what I did play, lighting was beautiful and viewing the city at night was deadly!

Can't wait to get home from work and play this for most of the night. I think I'm just gonna drive around and explore for a while first then do some of the missions. What are ye looking forward to doing??

  • Registered Users Posts: 140 ✭✭Mar Mar Marmalade

Finally got it from the Post man and I'm installing it now. Bit sad to delete some of my old game memory that I've spent so much time on but hey.. it's GTA. Case is nice and metal ;).

Oh! it's finished installing! The tension!

Yeah, fairplay when he said he will give it a go and see for himself. Would probably be a funny video as well like Conan does when he tries games.

The movement of the characters is fantastic in every aspect, from melee fighting to just walking/running, and even when you get hit by a car.

I was slightly put off by the driving at the start. I was even quite worried thinking "oh no, I'm not going to like this at all". Its very different to IV, but after a while I started to love it.

One thing I will say, the cops don't fuck around.

Just checked my tracking number from Gamesnash - says its delivered except I have no copy of the game... Wtf?

  • Registered Users Posts: 50 ✭✭Kudros

Everyone should have today off of work to play this game!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,166 ✭✭✭Beefy78

Think I may the right choice by not going to the midnight launch. Got to Gamestop at 8.30am this morning, bowled straight up to the counter and got my copy. No hassle. Walk back via Tesco to gt an oven pizza, now I've had a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich as it was installing and we're ready to go.

    It has been emotional.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,837 ✭✭✭intellectual dosser

The disc is sitting right in front of me....but I'm at work. Have been looking at the map - I already know I won't be doing any missions for the first several hours of gameplay!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 937 ✭✭✭Rud

Picked up a copy at the midnight launch last night with a bit of a que but no real hassle.Installed it,got through the intro mission, saved at the safehouse and just hopped into the Buffalo and drove and drove.Amazing looking city and vehicles.Bit too bright, shiny and colourful so far for me but i blame the dark colours of GTA IV for that.I pretty sure i'm the only one to see the tractors back!Anyone else think the cars drive a bit like in Midnight Club?

Generally speaking, is it best to start the missions straight away or just drive around?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,507 ✭✭✭Carroller

Just walked into my local Tesco and got a copy for €54.99, no queues, no fuss no pre order. The down side is I've a hospital appointment now, the games waiting for me in the car and I've no ****ing idea how long I'll be here.
