Lets not go down that road, it's kind of similar to that auld Bob Geldof road.

You don't get it. The blu ray version was so slow at loading that it HAD to be installed to the hard drive unlike the vastly quicker loading Xbox disc. You have it the wrong way aroung tbh.

They claimed they made the world smaller to fit on DVD for Xbox is what you probably mean.

The V logo looks like a Euro note on the Rockstar website.

The word five is the same font as on the five dollar bill though :p

    ITS WASHINGTON! :)

    example A:
    5 doller bill

    example B:
    gta 5 logo

the "five" font on the bill is the same used as GTA's "five" albeit stretched. The green "V" aka money and even the ribbion of lincon's name is also present on the GTA5 logo.

Think about it ... every GTA city is filled with scumbags, fraudsters, con men etc. What better city to have .. washington dc :)

Did you find there was a lack of things to jump off in GTA IV?

I like things that take effort to climb.

It makes the inevitable jump all the more satisfying. Nothing like biking up the mountain in San Andreas.

That said, Ballad of Gay Tony did briefly fulfill my need to jump off things. No Just Cause 2, though.

Mountains also equal more variety. There's only so much city living one can take until one wants to hit the countryside.

    Wiki Quote
In a later conference call with investors, Take-Two's Strauss Zelnick attributed the delay to "almost strictly technological problems ... not problems, but challenges."[57] It was revealed that technical difficulties with the PlayStation 3 version of the game contributed to the delay, along with storage problems on the Xbox 360.

Its obvious the PS3 issues were what caused the majority of the delay but Xbox deleopments also contributed

So its time for a break from the hum drum of jumping off man made structures to get into the country air and jump climb and jump off of naturally occuring tallness.

I can see why you'd find that appealing.

So just because they have the font of USA money means its going to be in Washington?

IMO all this suggests is that it is going to be somewhere in the USA and the game will involve copious amounts of money (as it always does). Nothing More, Nothing less.

Besides Washington is one of the most boring cities in the USA, it is an entirely administrative city with not much else going on apart from political crap. I seriously doubt GTA V will be set in Washinton. I think it will be based on a multi city format similar to San Andreas, Or else it will be one large city surrounded by country side and smaller towns.

I would be shocked if it was Washington.

It's going to use a new proprietary engine developed by NASA and be set on the moon.

This is as accurate a guess as anyone can make right now.

Am I the only one that preferred GTAIV over the silly carry on of San Andreas?

I think Vice City had a good medium ground.

Why does the font matching dollar bills mean Washington? They use dollars all over the country..that's just clutching at straws.

Does that mean we get to play the part of a Senator? That's be badass, sitting in those comfy charis, passing them bills.... **** YEAH!

Nice promotion for your Youtube channel there...looking for a bit of publicity eh?

I've been saying it all along, a new version of Vice City would rock. I hope they don't go real city, thats grand for Yanks if it's set in America, but it's boring for us where having the exact same corner shop in the exact same place means nothing to us.

Anyway, more freedom with a made up city. Base it on somewhere, like all previous games, but make it fun.

Well all current, as well as majority of previous US notes, have all had Washington memorials on the back.

I know what you are saying, doesnt mean Washington. Can be any old US state. But think about it...

    GTA 3 and 4 - New York
    Vice City - Miami
San Andreas - practually all of California and Las Vegas.

If its going to be a new setting, its a new US city. Washington being the nations capitol is a likely choice. But .. i know what you mean. Who knows at this point.

Great news...finally some incentive to actually finish IV sometime this year.

As for settings...been so wrong in the past (thought we'd see one set in UK/europe) but think that this might be VC/Miami and possibly mid to late 70's (all that music and classic cars and crappy clothes)... although modern day LA/SF would be cool too.
Waiting for SA to come out was ball breaking, with snippets and maps being released and then the delays...have a feeling this might be a similar waiting game...

I'd rather they try something along the lines of San Andreas, or.... something not based in a city.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭Krusader

If it's a new city i'd say Detroit or Chicago

  • Registered Users Posts: 730 ✭✭✭Hygro

I think they should do another past era setting ... maybe the 70's :)

You'd get a brilliant soundtrack plus the clothing would be hillarious :D

    GTA Chicago would be amazing.

would have to disagree with your fist point tbh, the driving was vastly improved in gta4, it actually took a bit of skill to be able to drive good as opposed to the previous games, the bikes didnt handle great but the cars where amazing.

As for your second point, if they make the game more like TBOGT it will be all good as that dlc kicked ass

TBOGT was a hoot, that early mission where you're driving a golf cart with a guy strapped to the front of it screaming as you go through traffic had me in stitches, was definitely like the GTA of old.

IV definitely had its moments, the city itself was great but the missions were just dull, aside from the bank heist. which was brilliant. I cant recall a lot of them to be honest, never grabbed me in the way that VC or SA did.

I used to get bored in Vice City and actually obey the traffic lights, must be the only game in existence where obeying the law is a welcome change from blowing sh1t up with a tank :pac:

TBOGT was brilliant! And it introduced the world to Yusuf Amir, one of the best characters in the GTA universe, and expertly voiced by Omid Djalili.
