i just read an interesting comment on ssn, regarding the difficult decision in choosing vdv or defoe to start.

with both players on form at the mo, would we be better off playing a 4-3-3/4-3-1-2 formation? this would have ade, vdv and defoe up front and probably sandro, luka and parker in the mid. but that leaves the problem of bale. would it be better to have bale on the pitch over defoe?

at the moment i would just leave things the way it is because we are winning games. but should bale get injured or something, i wouldnt mind seeing 'arry give 4-3-3 a go. thoughts???

Out of all the players named Bale is definitely the one in poor form at the minute.

In saying that I have always thought that our pace on the flanks is a massive element of what makes us so dangerous offensively.

I cant fathom how people are saying Bale is in poor form ?? He has done well in most games I have seen him in this season and was brilliant for Wales

That would be too narrow IMHO.

If we were playing 433 the front three should be flexible, and have width- two from vdv defoe and adebayor could be augmented by bale or lennon. if the aim is to have a formation that includes all the best players playing in their best positions (if all fit)
    Friedel
    Walker Kaboul King Bale
    Sandro Parker
    Modric
    Lennon VDV
    Adebayor

That gives pace and width from the back, with sandro and parker providing plenty of cover for walker and bale. lennon is being heavily criticised, but he isn't match fit yet, and I have full faith in him. This is the team we shouldplay when everyone is fit in the big games, athough BAE has strong clims for LB, which leaves Bale fighting VDV and Lennon for a place. Personally, I would love to see bale and/or lennon in free roles

This team and formation would win most games IMO:

    Friedel

    Walker
    King----Kabul----BAE

    Parker---Sandro---Modric

    VDV
    Adebayor
    Bale

Funny thing is if everyone played to their potential 80% of the time I'd say 'Arry would have a mare picking a starting xi.

Look at Defoe, he's as good as Ade on his day.
