the beta trial for office 365 , and blackberry cloud BES service has been released

the good news is that you get a BES admin console like the standard BES 5.01 console, and you can do most everything in it.. looks nice and snazzy.

    the bad news is that

    1. you need at least an enterprise office 365 subscription to access this feature.
    2. you will need an enterprise BES add on from your carrier, Vodafone etc.
price varies from €15 - €20 just for this add on alone.

    3. i tried activating blackberry on a standard vodafone blackberry plan
and it will not activate, hence the need for item 2 above.

so inorder to use a blackberry with exchange online, users must pay a :mad:premium of between €15 to €25 just to be able to connect to email, calendar , tasks etc with a blackberry device, while, iphone 4, etc using activesync don't attract this charge.

in an update to this thread, and correction of some of the points above,

blackberry cloud services works fine on all consumer BIS plans, have tested o2 prepay BIS, VF bill pay BIS, and all work fine with the blackberry cloud services, calendar, tasks , contacts, all work perfectly.

the only thing is that you need an enterprise office 365 subscription, to be able to use the cloud service.

so, no expensive additional BES add on needed anymore,

you can get the office 365 enterprise subscription for

    €9 / €14.25 / €22.75 / € 25.50 depending on what office 365 features you need.
