Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

Just wondering if you would be able to help me out. One of my friends is looking to do a manicure and pedicure course. She already is advanced in acrylic nails and wants to do a course which will provide her with some kind of certificate which wont cost too much.

She has looked at below :

    http://www.crystalnailsireland.com/

They do a 5 day course over a 5 week period for 500euro. Anyone know anything about these guys? or can you recommend another course or trainer?

    Thanks for your help,

    Hi,

What certification is the place you linked to offering? I found their website not very nice to navigate so stopped looking.

Places like Portobello College offer Manicure & Pedicure courses which are ITEC certified- which means you are insurable. You need to look at various colleges and what certification you get at the end. AIT is an insurance company I know a lot of therapists over here use so perhaps look on their site for details of qualifications required etc- they are very helpful so you could also call and I am sure they will be happy to give advise.

Theres an awful lot of 'beauty courses' which offer cheap/fast training churning out under trained 'therapists' who don't even understand the basics of hygiene never mind that the courses arent recognised so they cant get insurance.

Whilst you may pay a little more for getting a decent qualification it pays in the long term and shows that you are properly trained to a high standard.
