Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is this the K100 sleeve you are trying to remove?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,026 ✭✭✭grindle

Yurp. There're videos around the place with people gripping the sleeve and lightly tapping the top of the mod off of something and it's gone.
I tried lightly and worked my way up to very heavily and the thing moved about 1/10 of a mm.

Maybe try watchin some porn or something, it might help???

Trust me, my ****-hand is well capable of the requisite movements, I'm like a half-Popeye. Sleeve won't budge.

Unless you meant as an anti-depressant or relaxant? In which case, Thanks Mr. Chrome - off to have a **** thinking of you.

which part of the k100. you looking to take off? mine just screws off if you're talking about what I think you're talking about

That bottom sleeve. I know it screws off of the button, but that tube is actually made of two tubes. One is the internal brass sleeve and the other is the tightly-gripped outer aluminium gross coloured sleeve with the ridges.

There are videos showing people tapping the yoke off like it's barely attached, but I hammered this and no budge. I really think they've started gluing it on.

What's the best rebuildable to start off with?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,305 ✭✭✭Green Hornet

Clockworks RDA......loads of room and will last forever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,561 ✭✭✭rickyjb

Dripper or tank style? If you want a dripper and you don't mind waiting 3-4 weeks for delivery it's hard to beat the trident clone from fasttech, very easy to rebuild and loads of options with adjustable airflow and an extra post for dual/quad coils if you need it. For less than 20 dollars it's unbelievable value.

If you want a dripper but don't want to wait a month for it to arrive something like the Igo-W is similar but without the adjustable air flow, available from most Irish vendors.

If you're looking for a genesis style (usually used with SS mesh/rope but can also take cotton micro coils) the RSST is a pretty safe bet and is available from ESI for €20-25 I think.

You'll need some 0.25mm+ kanthal (I'd recommend getting some 0.28 & 0.32 also), something to check resistance with (most VW devices will do this) and some cotton or SS mesh and wire depending on your preference. Cotton is MUCH easier to work with and IMO gets better results.

The Clockworks RDA is great but pretty overpriced for what it is these days, also has a very small air hole and only 2 posts so kind of limited.

Probably looking for a tank type rather than a dripper at the moment, but I'm a bit concerned a genesis type might be a bit complex.

What's the aga-t and dream like?

Aga T is a genesis but pretty easy to rebuild. The Dream I found awfully fiddly and not that great a vape.

Kayfun is dead easy to rebuild and a tremendous vape. Not mad expensive either. Can get the Kayfun lite for 80ish

I really wouldn't recommend the AGA-T, I had awful problems with it. RSST is much better.

I have a dream also and it's not too bad to re-build but the results aren't great. I have a fogger V2 on the way from fasttech (20 dollars) which gets fairly good reviews, so that might be an option for you either.

A cheap dripper is the best way to start off, whatever you choose you'll need to experiment a bit before you get good results and a 3 post dripper with plenty of room to work in and adjustable air flow really is the best choice. IMO anyway:)

Don't forget a pen torch/blow torch if you want to use micro coils, you can pick them up from ebay/amazon/fasttech for about a fiver.

Good point on a dripper being a good place to start on rebuilding.
I have an Igo w which I like a lot though I do need a jewellers loupe to build it :-D

Cotton in a RSST, colour me interested. Anyone try this setup?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,555 ✭✭✭youdipstick

I just built a cotton micro coil on a rsst, very simple & wicks great, massive vapour & excellent throat hit,I believe cotton is far more Superior than mesh, that's just my opinion,I still use mesh & silica, just depends on what juice I am using.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,363 ✭✭✭dePeatrick

Yeah, I am completely taken by cotton too, been using it on miniprotank and today built my first coil for an eBaron dripper with cotton......fiddly things to rebuild but I thought that about the miniprotank until I did a few and can now do them without thinking in a couple of secs....

These small drippers are difficult for the first, second, third, fourth & fifth time...LOL it's my eyesight & arthritis that lets me down when building,I spend 20 minutes building one atty & 2 hours searching for bits that I have dropped...LOL

    OK, silly question time.

Which way does a kick go in, the side with the adjuster screw towards the head?

I just put in an order to Fastech & added a couple of kicks to see how they perform, they were about €6.50 each,I forgot,I should have checked on here first to see if there was any feedback on these kicks,I'll let you know how I get on with them when they arrive.

I did the same thing last night and am also amazed by how simple it was. I'm not sure how long you could chain vape for but with normal vaping no wicking issues at all. I also tried a SS wick in the microcoil and it just couldn't keep up, wasn't wicking fast enough.

    Tricrocoil is where it's at though:D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkMOOMWe8iQ&list=TLPSEp40okhE7000MvAr95RETf0WyTwqdp

    Works great!

I forgot about the tricroil,I saw that video last week, thanks for reminding me about it,it sure looks good but does it perform as good as Rip Tripper,I'm going to have a go at it sometime.
One good thing about Rip Tripper,I don't need to turn up the volume...:D:D

I've just seen on the bottom of your post that you have already built a tricro coil & it works great, did you do a single or a dual coil,I must check out that video again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,561 ✭✭✭Ionised

Drunker tank is 20mm...closest I can find. Tank apears to be polycarbonate.

I've tried about 20 vendors & no luck yet,it's the 22mm Diameter that you want is difficult to find,I could try the States if you wish, but it is a long postage time.

I've had a moan about this before, I prefer short and fat to long and thin!

The protank etc are too wide for an ego, but too narrow for a mod. It's frustrating.

If I was looking for a 22mm device for a mod,I would go for a Genisis Atty which will hold the same amount of fluid as a Nova & has silica wicks & they measure 22mm,would you go down that road & build your own.

I'd like to, but im not sure I can be bothered with the learning curve. Old dog, new tricks and all that.
