Kildare Town Fire Station?

Asabove folks has anyone heard any rumours that Kildare Town is to get its own Firestation in the near future,,,and how would one go about finding out if such a project was in the Pipeline,with regards Kildare Co Co budget,im asumeing it would be they who would finance this sort of thing ?

The rumour i heard is there is a existing building somewhere thats all ready in situ,,hence no planning permission to build...probably need change of use permission though,,

Rumour has it that Heffernan Tyres building is the potential site. It already looks like a Fire Station! Has anyone else heard this?

Have heard this also. Aparrently Heffernans tyres are moving to the old Chapmans garage.
With a new school, new tesco and the like we really do need our own fire station.
