The jockey weighed in 2lbs light so the horse was thrown out.

Am I right in saying a jockey will lose weight in a race, maybe a couple pounds?

How does this tie in with weighing in after a race?

A jockey will not lose a few pounds in a race FT9.

Really? I'm almost certain I've heard of NH jocks losing maybe 1 or 2 lbs during races.

    I'd imagine they would quiet easily over 2 1/2 - 3 miles?

    Maybe they do.

I would imagine it'd be very hard to do. I thought you need to burn about 1500 calories to lose a pound?

    Edit just read 3500

Jockeys dont lose a few pounds after a race, it has be known for jockeys to lose a couple of pounds in between races - as in race over then steam/sauna before next race
