Getting eircom broadband

Hi i was talking to a sales agent and Iwas told i could get 24 mb next gen broadband. I am just wondering will it be good for online gaming on my ps3 as this is the main reason i am getting it. Also i live in new ross and wondering whre is the local phone exchange??? I really want it to work for online gaming. Thanks Wayne
