Just re checked the rules. They dont state that the pics have to be in full b&w, and also said to stretch yourself. But ill leave it up to the general consensus

Maybe I'm being picky here, but there's at least four colour photos entered into this B&W challenge.
Why?
Why not keep them for another challenge that is not Black & White?

Am I interpreting the term "Black & White" incorrectly?

I suppose in this case it is not totally specific, Does the actual photograph have to be in black and white? Or does the image/subject have to be black and white and may be taken in colour? I am not entirely clear on it either.

I made a comment in the last Challenge because I thought one of the photos actually had NO Red what so ever in it but that was different as the name of the challenge was RED so you'd expect something red in it. This challenge however could go either way as Black & White could be the subject or the "effect" for want of a better word. Like I was told its only a bit a craic sure!:D

Yes it is just a bit of fun and I always enjoy looking at the photographs:)

That's why I wondered if I was interpreting the challenge correctly.

To me it is meant to be a black and white photograph especially as the example given is a black and white photograph..........

Meh, if not specified i'd say it's down to interpretation (but i didn't set the challenge so I could be wrong)

That's correct the example given is a black and white photo, but as you know these things are open to interpretation but as with any challenge it's the forum users who vote for the better/fitting photo.
I'm new here to the photography forums so I did not know everything had to be bullet proof in regards to the rules of the challenge:o:o

Ah it's just me with my camera club head on.
We have monthly competitions - colour print and B&W print and you dare not put a colour shot into the B&W section. :eek:

Denis, with my camera club head on, I agree. But then, life is short (and so can be tempers :-) )

So lets sit back and enjoy the photos - and give thanks to the ones we think best fit the brief. But remember - that's how we ended up with Bertie!

Hi Folks I have noted with dismay the purist debate over what is B&W - I assumed that many of the photos on the B&W theme were taken in colour and processed to B and W - thus I wonder does my entry qualify. My compliments to the Mary Clarke who says its a bit of fun. Regards

@Fearanpoist.... I am just a novice and I spend hours on here enjoying everyone elses photographs. I have only dipped my toe in the water and posted pics a few times. Might have a shot at this if I get around to it.
Thanks to all posters I love the pics:) I like either interpertation of the black and white theme.
