No Exit Polls?

Quick question. There are no exit polls this election. Can anyone inform me why?

I have a vague recollection of some controversy in the last election or two but can't remember exactly how we arrived at a "no exit poll" situation tonight?

Red C say they are doing one. We don't have it yet though. A number of people of politics.ie confirmed being contacted.

I was polled by Red C just after 6 last night.

I meant that RTE or any of the broadcasting media weren't carrying them.

There has to be some pertinent reason and not just "cutbacks", I would have thought...
