Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That's a nice starter bike for 999 Bucks. Are you in the USA?

    Yes, for a while.

"Starter Bike" implies that there is some sort of compulsory upgrade scheme involving crabon frames, deep section wheels and powermeters.

That bike is fine forever. It has an excellent mid-range Shimano groupset and decent wheels.

We all like to upgrade at some stage :)
    Is it good value pricewise?

No idea, you'd have to compare it to other local prices for the same spec (alu frame, carbon fork, 105 groupset, Fulcrum 7 or Aksium wheels).

That would sell for about €1000 in Ireland (very rough guess), but that includes VAT.

Compared to this it looks to be good value. I'm comparing it to € prices.

Similar spec, 2011 bike with alloy frame, carbon fork and 105 groupset, same wheels too.

Carbon forks, carbon seatpost, 105 groupset for just over 700 euros.

    Snap it up

Order placed, will have it in a week :)

I took a 2011 specialized secteur for a spin to judge size, it was a 52cm and felt fine so the 51cm rocky mountain should be perfect.

It's more of a wine colour than red in the brochure pic above. Still very nice though.

Top and down tubes are triangular, different :)

Just need to pick up some spd's and assemble it properly and swap over the brakes from lhd to rhd. Itching to get out for a spin now :D

Put back the pie plate, and get some wheel reflectors. :) The deep red looks better that the opening photo. I like the shallow drops.
