Increasing BF3 performance

Any tips or tweaks for this game yet? I am running it on lowest settings on 1650 res with a coreduo 8400 and radeon 5770 and its definitely chugging a bit in some of the fights. I know updates for the game and drivers will speed things up a bit, but anyone discovered any console commands or tweaks that add more fps? thanks…

Also, any way to get rid of the chat? it pops up on the right hand side during fights, pretty annoying
