CIT Deliveries in Derry /NI Question

May seem a silly question - but doing some research for a script and part of the story relies on an individual attempting to rob a CIT Van. [Cash in Transit van - like securicor etc] Now this side of the border the deliveries to and from banks are escorted by the Guards and the Army. So just wondered what the situation is…

So just wondered what the situation is in Derry as that's where the story is set. Obviously it won't work if the security is too heavy.

It's a light hearted story [believe it or not] but would have to change it if the CIT vans are escorted - and I suspect they are.

Any help on this question appreciated.

No escorts to the best of my knowledge.

I've seen deliveries to Bank of Ireland on the Strand road with no escort. I suppose it helps in Derry that if the police are called, they'll show up armed.
