Not really fair to compare that to that particular amazon listing, afaik thats a fairly old model so thats why amazon themsolves aren't listed as sellers. For €150, that aint a bad deal though, have you checked for saorview compatibility, can be a tricky area in monitors with tv tuners. What store was this in btw?

    And its definitely saorview compatible?

Think there were some of these in Tesco Youghal yesterday - not with the main TV display stand but up on the top of the shelves at the wall on the right. From the information given there you wouldn't even know they had TV tuners in them...

Cheapest price on Skinflint.eu is £138 and a fair few merchants selling it at £150 so €149 is a good price.

    hi

Im just after getting this and am trying to set it up for the folks in the kitchen.

My first question is the plug lead im after getting is a two pin circular one-is this correct-where do i get an adapter for this.

How do I get the saorview on this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 454 ✭✭gernon

Double check in the box for another lead they usually supply both types and if not go back to Tesco and get a shaver adapter

Sorry forgot to say just plug in aerial and Saorview should set itself up just make sure you select Ireland in the Country menu in set-up.

I hate those shaver adaptors - much better and way way cheaper to cut the stupid 2-pin plug off and add a 3pin one (I always cut off any decent ones from electrical stuff being dumped - but then I'm stingey...:) )

No...its the UK version of Saorview and you cant recieve it everywhere, mostly just around the border area...plus there are a lot more channels on Freeview-I just hope we wont have to wait 10 years for Saorview to get even half as much...

Are you sure it was the same model? Saw another Samsung in Killarney for around that price, but the model number was LE22.... instead of P22....

They didn't have any of the model mentioned here unfortunately.

was there many left in Killarney?? any idea of the exact price??

Sorry, can't remember exactly. It was around the €250 mark for a 22 inch Samsung. Don't think it was a special offer or anything like that.

Sorry not an alert...question to those who managed to pick one up: was there a sound cable in the box? Thanks.

The only cable you get with a tv under normal circumstances is a power lead. Anything else ( HDMI or other ) will have to be purchased seperately.

Thanks for the feedback. Actually, the box contents section of the instructions indicates that it comes with a D-Sub and stereo cable - but no stereo one in box. I can imagaine Tesco's response but was just wondering if I was unlucky or if other purchases found the same.

Thanks. Does it just have a connector like a 3.5m headphone socket at each end? Think so from the contents pic but not thta clear.

Just set it up yesterday, through attic aerial. Works brilliantly! Great sound and picture. Picked up 127 digital (includes radio) and 15 or so analogue channels on the auto search (that's in Donegal...if it makes any difference?). Sleek looking set - bar missing a cable from the box, no complaints so far!

As to age, manufactured label in box is Dec. 2010. On Amazon, it shows first available in July 2009. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong really!
