    As per thread title. Just wondering has anyone else experienced this problem?

    Nothing else is noticeable (performance wise). Just every now and then I'll get this high pitch whine followed by a click.

    Do you mean when its reading a disc in the drive?
    My launch console does the same thing, even with perfect discs it sounds like its trying to chew them up! :rolleyes:

    Not really. Even when watching a video or while I'm playing a game I'll just get a high pitched whine followed by a click. I'm just worried that it's the start of something. :(

    Where is the source of this noise? In the disk tray? In the fan? In the HDD?

    I think it could be the HDD failing since normal laptop/ desktop HDD's whine and click when they're faulty.
