I am honoured to introduce to you all, the one, the only, the fabulous ohthebaby! :D

Naturally, she needs little in the way of introduction as I'm sure most if not all have us have been touched by her innate kindness and generosity (and a few of us live vicariously through her French romance!) but for those of you who don't know her too well, this is your opportunity to ask her pretty much anything and get an insight into one of the best posters on C&H.

With her amazing fashion sense, exceptional music taste, wry sense of humour and genuine all 'round loveliness, ohthebaby has become a valued poster on C&H. When I first met her IRL I was struck by how she is exactly as she comes across online; crazily easy to talk to, engaging and downright hilarious. So we are privileged to have the opportunity to interrogate the wonderful ohthebaby, who is currently living-it-up in France and hopefully having the time of her life!

    Let the games begin ;)

    Luv yhoo bbz xXx <3333

Do you realise that your love life is exactly like a movie?

Are you sure it's not a movie and you're really still sitting in Ireland and are just making it up to make your life seem more interesting? :P

    How's France?

What has been the most clichéd moment of your life thus far?

    Got any life goals?

    Heeeeeeeey!

    Favourite boyband ever?

If you could make a super boyband, comprised of members of existing boybands, who would be in it?

    S Club 7 or S Club 8?

    Favourite Home and Away hottie?

Jeremy Kyle - perfection or beyond perfection?

Favourite Fair City hottie? (hottie is such a strange word but nothing else sums it up quite as well!)

Best Fair City storyline of the last 5 years?

    Favourite eurovision entry ever?

WHY MUST YOUR LIFE BE SO PERFECT?

Considering that me and soccy share your deep love of Fair City and Eurovision, are we too destined to follow in your footsteps and eventually sell our stories to Hollywood film-makers who find their faith in love restored?

    That'll do. For now.:p

Up until a few months ago it was non-existent so yes, I am loving living in my own little soppy film for now. :)

Are you sure it's not a movie and you're really still sitting in Ireland and are just making it up to make your life seem more interesting? :P

    How's France?
C'est magnifique! It's such a good place to live and to learn. I love the language and speak it reasonably well so life here isn't too difficult for me. It's a little colder than I'd like but c'est la vie.

What has been the most clichéd moment of your life thus far?
I seem to remember one Tuesday in July walking across an empty city in the pouring rain of a thunder storm and kissing my boyfriend under my frilly umbrella at a bus-stop. *sigh*

    Got any life goals?
I used to say I want to be this and do this and see this and blah blah blah. Right now I'm just trying to take things as they come and not make any big plans because usually they don't work out or something happens and you get bogged down by it all. I suppose a goal is to be happy and healthy and enjoy life.

    BBZ!

    Favourite boyband ever?
    JLS. <3

If you could make a super boyband, comprised of members of existing boybands, who would be in it?
Oooh this is a tricky one. I actually have no idea. I really, really don't. I am going to ponder this one and hopefully come up with a reply.

    S Club 7 or S Club 8?
S Club 7! They are my childhood wrapped up in one cheesy band.

    Favourite Home and Away hottie?
Jack. I cried the night he died. So so much. So nice, so hot. Good times.

Jeremy Kyle - perfection or beyond perfection?
Beyond perfection. There is nothing better than sitting in your pyjamas all morning eating chocolate and watching Jeremy Kyle when you should be in college. He's so wise. And you can't deny he hasn't got a little special something... ;)

Favourite Fair City hottie? (hottie is such a strange word but nothing else sums it up quite as well!)
Ooooh do you remember Troy, one of Leo's sons? Mmmm.

Best Fair City storyline of the last 5 years?
Anything involving Leo. I could look at those hands all day.

    Favourite eurovision entry ever?

Ok this sounds super out of tune here but the CD version is great. Also one of the singers got prosecuted in Germany for giving her boyfriend HIV or something on purpose.

WHY MUST YOUR LIFE BE SO PERFECT?
    I know right?!

Nah it's not really. I'm just in a lovely place right now with lovely people. Soon I'll run out of money and be back to where I was.
    :)

Considering that me and soccy share your deep love of Fair City and Eurovision, are we too destined to follow in your footsteps and eventually sell our stories to Hollywood film-makers who find their faith in love restored?
Um obviously. Come stay in my apartment before I run out of money and I'll set you up with a few hotties. ;)

    That'll do. For now.:p

    Living the dream

    And running out of money.

    What's your kitty's name?
    King.

How long are you in France for?
I don't know. Provisionally a few short months. But I have been known to get around things very well so we'll see. Hopefully a little bit longer!

Would you recommend doing French in college or is the whole reading books thing really annoying like it appears to be?
Yesssss. I find it very difficult at times and really over the last two years I had grown to hate the language just from the way I was learning it there. Being over here makes me love it again. THe reading books thing is so annoying. In my college I have to read a lot. But if you study it through a business style degree or something like that then the focus is more on the language itself as opposed to its literature. I think. So yeah, if you don't like reading books in a foreign language so much that's an option!

How do French people react when they find out you're Irish? :D
They love it. Really, really love it. So many French people are so into Ireland. Lots of people I've met have spent a few holidays there. I know one woman who is obsessed with it. Her house has leprechauns everywhere and shamrocks and Claddagh rings. French people have a bit of grief with the English so we're like the sweet, lovable alternatives. :)

What's the best piece of advice you were ever given?
Live in the present and stop worrying about the future.

    Best compliment you've ever received?
Someone told me I had a really kind heart once. That was nice.

5 things you like about yourself?
My teeth. My hand-writing. I can cook well. I am good with animals. I think I can pick out nice clothes.

Languages you'd love to learn to speak?
    Spanish and Russian.

    Any fears/phobias?
Tickles. If you try tickle me I will punch you in the face and that is not a lie. Or if you are a boy and won't let me go when you're tickling me I will punch/kick you somewhere it really, really hurts. I've done it before and I will most certainly do it again. Tickles make me want to vomit. I can hardly think of them now without wanting to die. :(

    Any interest in politics?
I wanted Dana to be the next president. I'll let that view speak for itself.

    Are you ticklish?
See above answer! Well I'm not really ticklish at all, it just really hurts.

What do you do when you need cheering up?
Eat chocolate. Buy clothes/make-up. Listen to fun songs. Play with my cat.

    Pet peeves?
People who don't stand up on the bus for old people. Really, how can you have such little respect. Annoys me so so much. I also hate people who are in any way cruel to animals.

    Guilty pleasures?
I like cheesy music but I don't really feel guilty about that. I do however feel guilty about the amount of chocolate I consume. So so much. So that is a pleasure that I try to keep hidden.

    Bottled water,yay or nay?
Eh yay. What are you supposed to do if you are out and about and dying for a drink. I'm addicted to water so I always, always have a bottle in my bag. But I buy like one bottled water water a week and then refill from the tap.

    Proudest achievements?
Sticking out my first job for a whole summer. *shudder*

    Best "mistake" you've ever made?
Taking a year out was considered a mistake by some. So far so good!

    What inspires you?
Certain people who have been in my life and things they've said. Pretty things. I don't know really.

How would your friends describe you?
Quiet to the outside world but loud and chatty and funny with them. A little bit crazy and over the top at times. But kind and nice and friendly. I hope.

    Do you dream in colour?
    Yes!!!

    Can you dance?
Not particularly and this is one of the biggest problems in my life right now, no joke. I can dance like in a nightclub, bopping along to all the choons. But put me in a proper dance situation and it's like nightmare.com. I was the only girl I knew who physically could not Irish dance. The 'one-two-three' thing, I could never get that. And don't even mention salsa dancing. It's become a weekly trauma...

    Coke or pepsi?
    Coke. Cherry coke.

    What's your favourite word?
    Bomb.

What do you like most about France?
The cities. Everything is so pretty. Ireland is dull. The buildings are grey, everything is just ugh. Here it's like bright and happy and the buildings are beautiful. Even if the weather is crap it's still gorgeous.

    What bugs you about France?
The fact that the country as a whole cannot grasp the concept of being a vegetarian. They all think I'm just 'picky'.

What do you miss most in Ireland?
    My bed. :(

If you could pick five acts for a music festival lineup, who would you choose?
JLS, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Enrique Iglesias.

    :)

    Again, cannot choose.

Also Troy's from Waterford.. want me to hook you up despite the fact you have a boyfriend? :P
I have to come home to Ireland sometime... ;)

    Ireland or France?
    Um France. Hands down.
    Pigwidgeon wrote: »

English mainly but sometimes he has difficulty expressing certain things so we switch to French for a little bit. And he's trying to teach me Spanish to a little of that too. And of course he's getting taught a few Irish words too! <3

I would just like to say I was very confused as to who Grindlylow was...

    Twilight, yay or nay?
Nay. I hate it. I have never seen the films or read the books so I suppose I'm not in a great position to judge but anything that has huge hysteria surrounding it makes me not want to ever go near it.

    Favourite stores to shop in?
A-Wear, Forever 21, River Island, Oasis, H&M, the usual really. Oh and Penney's. You can't forget Penney's.

Do they have something like Penneys in France?
No. Not a day passes where I don't think of Penney's...

Have you ever been in WalMart?
No and it's my dream to go there. I'm obsessed with supermarkets. There are huge hypermarchés here and omg I spend so much time in them. So much time. Tesco is so crap in comparison.

Do you live on your own in France or did you know people to live with?
Right now I live on my own but I have friends here so it's all good.

Are you planning on travelling to other places or just France? :D
RIght now I'm just here but I'm going to do a teeny bit of travelling over the next few weeks if I can afford to. Money money money.
Do you ever wear odd socks?
No. I am most particular about socks. I never ever wear odd ones or dark coloured ones. If I wear socks they always have to be bright. I think it was years of black socks everyday in school that made me hate them so much. Most of the time I never wear them though because I always have a dress or a skirt on so it's always tights. For my job I had to wear black socks everyday, I hated it so much.

    Are you a sports fan?
No. Although my boyfriend is a soccer superstar in the making and he was doing his soccer workout here last night to show me what he has to do and let me tell you I was a sports fan then. Rawr.

Your opinion on cricket? (The sport or the insect, or both)
Sport - boring. Insect - I don't know anything about but I'll guess also boring. But don't kill it cos it's mean to kill things.

    Your most expensive purchase ever?
    I think a debs dress. €350.

    Your most prized posession?
I don't know really. I will say photos. I love photos and would hate to lose certain ones.

    Any allergies?
Nope. Although when I pluck my eyebrows I get a fit of sneezes.

Is a Jaffa Cake a biscuit or a cake?
A beautiful mélange of biscuit and cake.

    Shaken or stirred?
    Shaken fo sho.

To bee or not to bee?
    To bee.

The best of times or the worst of times?
Right now, the best of times! :)

I love reading your replies, theyre brightening up my boring midterm day!
    Thank you!

    Have you always loved French?
Yes, always. I don't know why. Even before I started learning it France was the country in the world that I wanted to visit the most.

How did you start loving French?
I don't know! It's just a nice country with a nice language and nice things.

Is France full of good looking people?
Yes. It makes me feel so bad sometimes. Everyone here has nice eyes and hair and is just generally pretty. I feel so pale and white and Irish all the time.

Do the French dress better as a whole than Irish people?
Yes and no. University age people can't dress themselves at all. When you're in France you expect everyone to be so stylish but the overwhelming impression where I am is no, that's not the case. However there are exceptions and these exceptions are a million times better than you'd see at home so I think it balances out.

Do you see yourself moving to France permanently eventually?
    Yes. Fo sho.

What is your favourite piece of clothing you own?
Right now I don't really have one. I go through phases of absolutely loving something for ages then never wearing it for months then falling in love with it all over again. I do however have a coral coloured coat that I just love love love. It's so pretty.

What is your favourite piece of clothing you want to buy next?
I want a new winter coat!

    Scarves or hats?
Neither ever works for me. :(

Do you have any posters in your room?
No. I do have a purple sombrero though.

    Whats your favourite colour?
    Yellow and pink.

Do you paint your nails often?
I am NEVER without nail varnish. My favourite colour, and the one I use most often, is bright pink. Right now however I am sporting a really dark browny red.

    If so, what colour(s)?
Pink usually, the dark one I have now, a nice bright coral or black.

Whats your fave nail varnish brand?
No. 7. It's the best ever. Oh and Bourjois.

Do you like experimenting with make up?
Yes! I love nothing more when I am bored than to sit and do my make-up for ages. Or when I'm studying and can't take anymore I'll be like let's try something fun.

What do you use on a typical day?
I use foundation, some blusher, I make my eyebrows a teeny bit darker, I do sixties style eyeliner and then mascara and then maybe some bright lipstick but only if my eyeliner isn't too heavy. :)

How do you do your hair on a typical day?
I leave it down. It's naturally straight so it's not too much hassle. It is so so boring though so I try to fluff it up a little.

    Whats your fave movies?
Michael Collins, Downfall, The Brady Bunch.

Do you think youll ever accept One Direction as a boyband?
I don't know. I'm working on it. Like I like their song but there's something about them as a whole that irritates me. And Harry. I hate Harry. If he left them yes, maybe I could tolerate them a little bit more but with him in the band... ugh my blood boils everytime I see him. EVERYTIME.

    Do you like cooking/baking?
Yes! I am vegetarian so I've been cooking for myself for years. I like it and I'm relatively ok at it. I don't like cleaning up after though. It's good to cook at home cos then Mammy will be like I'll tidy up but when you live alone it's all your responsibility... :(

    Whats your favourite food?
    CHOCOLATE

(Im guessing you left King in Ireland) do you miss him loads and loads?
    Yes. :(

    :)
For you Deise. Although I am shielding my eyes.

Harry is so annoying. That face. That hair. Ooooh I want to kick him so badly. Yes I know all their names. And all their second names. And what ages they are. And who is single and who isn't... :o

No. But I receive photographs regularly.

Did you find love in a hopeless place? <_< (Sozzzles Rihanna's on telly..)
France isn't a hopeless place! Also that is my song right now. Loving it.

    Rihanna.. would you?
No. Really, really no. She is pretty yes, but I don't get the hysteria over her. She annoys me most of the time to be honest. And she has a very high forehead. Not that that's something to hold against her but like I mean it's not like you can ignore it. I'll take her legs though thanks.

My aunt lives in France! You should visit her.. It's borderline Geneva so you can trek into Switzerland <_<
I'm going to Switzerland soon avec le petit-ami. I'll go visit!

Are you gonna go to the NKOTBSB tour?
No. I'd like to see the BSB but I know nothing, literally nothing about NKOTB. Ooooh imagine seeing 'I Want It That Way' live. I think I'd die. <3

    Favourite boyband ever?
JLS bbz. Do you really need to ask?!

    Aren't Boyzone crap?
No!!! Have you never listened to 'Love Me For A Reason?' 'Picture Of You?' 'Words'? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. Those songs remind me of my Leaving Cert. That May and June I listened to their Greatest Hits non-stop. Good times. Although since Stephen died I haven't paid much attention to them. :(
Where did you have your first shift?
Um a teen disco like most Irish teenagers. My father was supervising. Nice.

    What was his/her name?
    A nice Irish name.

What were they like? Toothey, washine machine etc?
Grand. Not that I knew what I was really looking for at that stage tbh.

    Did they top ya?
Yes definitely. All night long. And all the next day. Rawr.

Have you seen the episode of Family Guy where Lois works for Fox News and if so, isn't it hilarious?
No. I don't do Family Guy.
    What's your most overused word?
Grand. I've become so aware of it not that I'm with non-Irish people all the time. Other native English speakers think it's really funny how we use it for ok or good. Apart from grand it would have to be like.

Do you have any controversial opinions?
Well I'm a vegetarian. It's not too controversial I suppose but it's something that always gets people talking. I also give out a lot about the welfare system in Ireland (granted I don't know a lot about it) and how so many people get away with getting so much for doing nothing and a lot of them don't even care about trying to improve their situation and my family work so hard and could get in so much trouble with the recession and if we lost everything in the morning we'd get literally nothing for certain reasons. I hate it. Ok that is not a very informed opinion but I'm sure it is controversial nonetheless.

    What's your favourite historical period?
Ooooh Ireland from about 1800-1945. Yes yes yes. Omnomnom.

    Who's your favourite historical figure?
Michael Collins. What a legend. I love the fact that his life was so exciting and that he was a bit of a divil too.

Who's your favourite historical figure with a moustache?
Ok I'm going to say Hitler. Not cos I love all the bad things he did but because he is the most fun and interesting to read about. I could read stuff about him all day.

    Why am I so tired?
Probably the same reason that I am - not enough sleep, too much time online. My teacher bought me three shots of espresso today cos he knew his little Irish girl was tired. If you're looking for a quick fix solution to your fatigue try this. Beware you'll have a nasty come down but it's fun while it lasts.

    Favourite book?
I've always had a thing for Little Women. <3

Hell yes. I live within walking distance of two mini Carrefours. I live within a ten minute bus journey of 2 absolutely HUUUUUGE Carrefours. It's like heaven. They're incredible, the staff have to wear rollerskates. I want to live there. There's also a decent sized supermarket within a 3 minute walk from my front door. So much love for French supermarkets, so much love.

    Oponions on the following things:
    Vanilla Coke
I haven't drank so much of this. I want to try it again. There's also coke orange here and coke other things. But the best is cherry coke.

    BNs
They're ok. They are bad for you so I try to stay away. But their theme tune is pretty cool.

    Lays
Yum. But again bad so I try to stay away.

Are you near Cannes? Go to Cannes!
Unfortunately not near Cannes. I really, really want to go. :(

Do you understand how verbs in the passe compose can take both etre and avoir? Cos I don't...
Yes. It's just something you have to learn. There doesn't seem to be any real explanation for it or maybe I've just ignored the reason all my life. Certain ones take etre, most take avoir. It's just a matter of learning which verbs take which. Not the funnest thing ever but it has to be done.

    Favourite tense?
Ooooh it has to be the imparfait. So nice. So easy. So perfect.

    Favourite French word?
Puisse, as in the first person of pouvoir in the subjunctive. Je puisse... <3

I hate Harry. If he left them yes, maybe I could tolerate them a little bit more but with him in the band... ugh my blood boils everytime I see him. EVERYTIME.

I get this, I really do. So much love for Zayn though.

    Yeah he's hot. But arrogant.

What is your favourite natural phenomenon?
I think lightening can be very beautiful. It's really scary but so pretty to loo at.

What is the first thing you are going to do when you come back to Ireland, apart from seeing family and friends etc?
Go to Penney's. No joke. This evening I had to pay €8.50 for two pairs of crappy black tights and that was the cheapest I could find. The same in Penney's would be like €2.50 or that. This country is killing me in ways.

Would you describe yourself as superstitious?
Oh yes. Super superstitious. I have to do things in certain orders or a certain number of times. I love ghosts and stuff like that too.

Well I'm not really either to be honest. Although at a push I would say movies. I never get how people get so addicted to a series. I just don't have the patience I suppose.

Thanks to foreign friends I've gotten well into Latin music. It's sexy. Also I love a bit of rap.

Just from reading this I'm seriously jealous of your life right now!

What's the weather like today where you are?
You wouldn't be so jealous today. It's been the first day of really, really crap weather. It's just pouring rain. Not cold thankfully but it's absolutely spilling outside. It's so wet I didn't go to one of my classes today.

    Favourite fruit?
    Strawberries and raspberries.

    Favourite vegetable?
    I like peppers.

What age did you become a vegetarian?
    I think I was 13.

    Favourite type of chocolate?
I love expensive chocolate, like good quality stuff. Especially dark chocolate. With praline. Ooooh. I just came home from the supermarket and I bought lots of chocolate. Happy happy happy. :)

Oooh thank you! Yes I know, that would be so emotional to see live. I'm going to listen to that song right now actually.

Do you like any music that isn't poppy? I'd lol if you were a closet Radiohead fan or something. :pac:
Nope unfortunately I'm not really a closet fan of anything that is in any way cooler than pop. Although I think I replied there two minutes ago saying that I now have a fondness for sexy Latin music. Rawr.

    Opinions on Louis Tomlinson?
Hmm. To me, he doesn't really have much of a personality. He seems quite boring. I also don't like his hair. Everytime I see him in magazines he is wearing ankle length trousers and those little fabricy shoes that you just put your foot into. I don't like this look.

    Opinions on Niall Horan?
He's from near me so I guess I have to like him. He seems like a nice guy but a bit of a gimp. Also I get the impression that he is somewhat the joke of the band. I don't know. Like in the video for their single they are throwing him around. And he always seems to be just hanging around as if he's not really supposed to be there. At times I feel awkward for him. But again that is just me.

Do you/did you like Take That?
HELL YES. Take That, Croke Park 2k9, right in the middle of my Leaving Cert. One of the best concerts everrr.

Favourite song from any boyband ever?
Honestly I don't know. Really I don't. I love JLS songs but then there's gems like All Rise from Blue, If You're Getting Down by 5ive, ooooh so much choice. I could never choose. Ever.

What did you think of Sweden's Eurovision Entry 2010, Anna Bergandahl?
She is pretty. Her song was so beautiful, I actually was listening to it this morning doing my laundry, what a coincidence! I was so surprised when it didn't get through to the grand final. She is also younger than me. I hate when I discover successful people are younger than me, it makes me feel like I'm wasting my life.

Jessy Matador - yay or nay?
Aaaah I love the song he sang at the Eurovision! Allez Ola Olé! Brilliant, so much fun to dance to. He was a bit of a mad choice for France though, very different to their usual style.

Dima Bilan - yay or nay?
Um yay. Believe is one of my favourite Eurovision songs ever. And you wouldn't throw him out in the cold...

Eric Saade - yay or nay? (there really only is one right answer to this question)
Yay. I WILL BE POPULARRRRRRRR. Although he is a bit too pretty boy for my liking.

Marija Serifovic - yay or nay?
YAY!!! Molitva is like the best song ever. I love it so much, I even know what it all translates as in English. And I can sing along with whatever language it is. I'm going to listen to it now. She looks like a man but that is fine with me.

What song(s) do you listen to cheer you up?
I like a bit of Justin Bieber. His happy songs of course. I also love to listen to cheesy inspirational songs like that one from Camp Rock with Demi Lovato, This Is Me. That can be my cheesy song for this post. <3

    How do you chill out?
Lie around the house doing nothing. I'm the laziest person ever.

    Do you like to read?
Yes. I was super big into reading when I was younger but as I went through secondary school I found myself with less and less time for reading properly so I kind of stopped. I'm trying to get back into it now.

Also, the fact that you're in France and not gorging yourself on BN's cuts me deep inside. </3
Sorry bbz. I have however found the most delicious chocolate cereal in the world. I've gone through 2 boxes since Monday. Is that good enough for you?
