Annoyingly one of my SLI'd GTX460 1GB cards died (popping noise and smell of burning) 2days ago, so I have been looking at replacement options. Logical choice would be a 560/560 Ti. I plan on running Surround monitors (3x displays) again so the 2GB versions would be considerably better. However 560 cards are kinda pricey for what is basically a jumped up 460 (my 460s were factory overclocked to 800mhz which isnt far off a 560 stock).

However it seems to me a £160 / $200 (both OCUK and Aria were selling refurbs for this price 3mths ago!) a used GTX480 would be faster and comes with 1.5GB ram which is just about enough for the big surround Res. Obviously its noisey and eats power and I would need 2 of them for surround, but I have those areas covered (watercooling and 1kw PSU). A new 560 1Gb is slighty more expensive and slower to boot. A 2GB 560 would be a great card but rare and expensive.

    GTX480 vs 560Ti (guess non-TI is like 10% slower).

Any thoughts or anyone looking to move from 480s to something else that might sell on their old cards?
