Looking a getting a gaming pc

Hi all,

I am currently using a hp laptop for games and it really struggles so I want to a new desktop. I can't find what I want for my budget In the retail shop so I'm looking here to see what you lads come up with. I have seen some machines on eBay but have been advised that these are not great machines as they contain cheapish components.

1. What is your budget? €1000

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Microsoft flight sim / Rail simulater 2012 / world of subways 3

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

5. Do you need a monitor? Yes (22 inch)

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? DVD rw drive (Can pick The rest myself)

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? No

8. How can you pay? CC/Paypal/DC

9. When are you purchasing? After Christmas

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? I know someone who repairs computers for a large company so he will build it for me

Hard drive prices have gone through the roof at the moment, so I only included an SSD for now. If you can get a cheap external for storage as well that would probably be best. Its possible (though unlikely) that prices will have dropped by january.

I'd also recommend reading up about overclocking, its not difficult to do and with the new SandyBridge chips you can get a large boost in performance.

I was talking to my friend and he recommended dabs.ie, I saw this bundle and was wondering if it would suit my requirements.

Not really.

-The equivalent would cost €50 less from Scan or HWVS.

-You said you don't want to overclock and thats an overclocking CPU and motherboard.

-Dabs can have notoriously bad delivery times coupled with terrible customer service. It doesn't happen to everyone but a lot of people have had bad experiences with them.
