Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Toulouse look rattled.

IF Toulouse were to lose by more than seven and 'Quins win-are Toulouse out??

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 27,325 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

Toulouse lose full stop and they are out unless they get a 4 try bonus as well (assuming Quins win that is).

    Yes and Ulster thru.

Quinns dropped their bind there. What was the TJ doing? Obvious Connacht penalty.

They would be behind Ulster anyway, would need Cardiff or Edinburgh to lose and Biarritz not to get a hatful of tries against ospreys

A more composed team would be ahead here. If Gloucester can just take one of these damn chances.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,284 ✭✭✭ongarite

    Gloucester ahead again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,284 ✭✭✭ongarite

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 27,325 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

**** YES. Try from nowhere for Gloucester. Absolutely excellent.

Am I the only one who wants Quinns to win now. It'll take Toulouse out of the running which would make life a lot easier for the rest of us.

    Come on Harlequins!!

    No, Ulster most likely.

Toulouse either group winners or out.

But they still only have 18 points. They would be behind Ulster who have 19?

If Connacht win Toulouse will top the group. Group winners are always ranked ahead of second place regardless of points.

Ulster are currently top of their pool but will likely lose to Clermont tomorrow and end up qualifying as one of the best second placed teams.

also would it be fair to say the worst irish team beat a top english team really shows the quality rugby is being played in the rabo direct...unlucky aviva premiership

Ulster are currently topping their group, they won't be if they lose to Clermont (barring some odd permutations).

Toulouse will probably end up as the 6th seeds. I would not want to end up as 3rd seeds.

On the face of it yes, but you have to take in variables like where the game was played, the type of rugby played, how important the occasion was (especially for Connacht). Quality of teams in Rabo is probably better yes, but I wouldn't say Connacht are a better team than Quins, regardless of this result.

i'd say more was on the line for quins but yeh i still wouldn't say connacht are better just a nice little jibe at some english friends

Well, their last game in this Heiniken Cup, a chance to get their first victory in the HEC, and a chance to end their losing run are pretty significant for Connacht.

Ah ok. So...that means who ever finish as the two best runners up will always be ranked 7th and 8th? Thought it just went on points. I'll get me coat...

We are looking at a very real possibility of an all Irish qf...
