Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Perhaps you guys might be able to help me with a query....

I have a number of films (mainly home movies!) etc... saved as AVI and MP4 files.

I'm wondering if it's possible to download subtitles for these films and then to burn both the film file and the subtitles to the one disc? How will the subtitles work on the DVD?

Yes, you can get subtitles from www.opensubtitles.org. Just call the subtitle file the same name as the video file, eg myvideo.avi, myvideo.sub and have them both in the same folder. Use DVDFlick to make a DVD

    Thanks.

Does this apply to MP4 files as well?

How do I sync the subtitles with the movie?

    Thanks for your reply

I think with DVDFlick once the subtitle is the same name it will pick it up automatically, you should test the sub works in sync by playing the video in VLC and activating the subtitle track (obviously with sub/srt whatever file of same name).
I'm not sure MP4 files support Subs, but then again I don't see why they wouldn't, so just name the files myvideo.mp4, myvideo.srt/myvideo.sub etc.
DVDFlick should tell you somewhere to add a sub file or show that its automatically picked up, I don't know the procedure with Flick as I use ConvertX, but I would say there similiar

Just watch the movie with VLC or MPC-HC and load the subs to see if they are in sync. If they're not in sync you can use something like Jubler to resync them. Or just download a whole bunch of subs and usually one of them will be in sync with the release you have.
