Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

At least I can fit in these yank tanks I'm looking at.... was quite snug in that mx5.

You should redo the mx5 interior with the same rug, for the lulz :P

On a serious note, it's quite a common look on 70's muscle cars. They do it all the time on fast 'n loud lmao. (or was it turn 'n burn. I watch too many car shows :P)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,721 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

I was thinking of a seat retrim in Alcantara, the rug may be a better material. :p

Needs a tiny bit of de-skangering and it would be ace!

yea some different alloys and it would make a fun daily alternative to a 2.0 na mid 90s corolla van for the same if not more money,

the GT4 bonnet and bumper look OEM to be fair to the car and seller

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,880 ✭✭✭Kaiser D

I was thinking the plates and sunstrip too.

If it were mine I'd have it rocking some steel wheels! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,019 ✭✭✭davycc

Somehow i didnt notice the skanger silver affect plates:o

you could sell them stealth wheels for a few hundred euro to some skangers:D

    I'd bloody love that. I've had 5 K10s, 1 van.

Had an old Irish reg van a while ago, thrashed it.

If only I knew back then :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,532 ✭✭✭JohnBoy26

It looks very rust free and the reg is nice too. The seats look like they've been made with a golfers trousers though.

Now that is a little beauty.
It'll either stay like that go years to come or get a B series and be kept well I'd say.

Seriously rare to find on like that at this stage.

I 'hate' people who put an exclamation mark at the end of every sentence! They should realise that it much easier to just to use the full stop key! If, however, they wish to convey a rising tone at the end of every sentence they should use the question mark key! So annoying!

I know what FIRE stands for, BTW! So lame!

    Not your ornery onager

My pet hates ads are the ones with "PRICE DROP!!!!" "L@@K!!!!" and "NEED GONE!!!!" in them.

I hear ye's. I hear ye's. What annoys the beyjesus out of me is "Just testing the water"...don't care what your testing and it doesn't make your 12 year old 220,000 mile lowered Passat with with monoblock rims worth a silly figure like €5k....get over yourself.

Have always loved these cars to bits

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/toyota-corolla-gti-new-nct-car-is-mint/7149740

If genuine its surely an appreciating (assuming you mind it) classic at this stage. Cant be an awful lot of them left in that kind of condition

Can't for the life of me understand why these celicas go for so cheap. Unless this is another case of calling and finding out its not for sale at all, testing the water, gauging interest i.e. was never going to sell it in the first place.

1999 Celica's not cheap , it's going on 16 years old , they're plentiful, hard to insure, dear to tax, and most of the crowd that were buying the likes of coupes are in Aus and Canada and the like. Go offer him 750 rather than 1750 I'd say he'd take the 750.

Hahahahaha, good luck with that €1000 discount.

Honestly? Do u think he'd actually take €1k less than the asking price, just like that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,721 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

Come in with that argument and I have a feeling the price would go up, that'd be my reaction anyway.

1k off... He would have to be barking mad to even think about it.
Go with 1.5k and you'd probaby get it and at that price it would be a steal.

The hint is in the advert "won't be sold for pennies"so therefore he's getting very low offers this far, so a fist with 750 cash in hand could well take it away, what choice has he got ? Keep it till it goes up in value ? and what harm to make the offer (in person)except maybe a bit of embarrassment if refused.

And yes I have gotten this much and bigger discounts on certain stuff, however I'd be quick and to the point and I wouldn't be going into major discussion/detail over the car and getting his hopes up, wham bam thank you mam , or not as the case may be. Try it sometime.:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 717 ✭✭✭Pops_20

It looks like a nice clean Celica. I'd be insulting my own intelligence going in offering €750.

finally rang this guy today and had a quick shat with him about the full spec and price:
1.2 punto block-some cam.close ratio box, steel head gasket- FMIC -garrett bb turbo-green stuff pads bembo discs est 140bhp but never been on rollers yet-no shortcuts taken as he says the yellow turbo cinq was his mates and plenty of short cuts:D-asking price 2.5k lovely little car but a bit rich for me sadly:(

Ah here, your not going to get that car for €750, not a hope in the world. It would be a waste of a journey for if you planned on offering that much!!.

Ah come on, we should encourage Bigus to ask the seller if he'd consider 750e :D

Here's a 202 for 700 maybe not quiet as good, but only ASKING only 700 so my price of 750 would have to be considered if seller wants to sell the one in cork.

You're comparing a 1.8 and a rough looking standard 2.0 with a rough looking body kit and dodgy alloys with a really clean 2.0 beams.
Madness, you just can't pick rough cars and claim like for like.
