Ah, dunno how I missed that!!

There's a chap on the icci who specialises in parts for integrales. A good one that's not an evo will definitely go for more, but in the uk. Not in paddy land where everyone only sees the reg plate.
An example would be a 36 k mile 916 spider 3.0 L v6, q2, 330s, Siena's, polybushed, koni sports etc went up for sale yesterday on ao for 7k. The advice of most on there was to put the price up to 10k sterling.....if that was here and it was put up at 7k euro, we'd be listing it in the dreamers thread.
Not sure if the coupe part would work, but didn't the coupe engine come from the integrale?

A lot of people here know the price of everything, but the value of nothing.. :=)

The lancia twin cams used to differ from the fiat lampredi lumps only in the balancer shafts. But by the time of the tipo sedicivalvole they were both using them. So i could never tell who used which!! But as the integrale was homologated for competition, i suspect it used a fuel system that could easily be upped to deliver 300+hp. Hense the use of injectors capable of higher deliveries.

You know it's much more than that.

I wouldn't spend 30k on an RS either id just modify an ST to a similar spec, more sleeper factor too even if they can hear you coming from a mile away also my car is now on it's 3rd owner in 2 months :p

First an integrale, now a legendary sud bimotor.
Is someone on donkeydeal trolling me. Two Alfa 3.0 engines from 164's (12v) in a sud....hell yeah.

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/view/7551314

One sold back in 2011 for 2700 pound however at the asking I think it's cheap....if I had a heated barn I could put it in.

Over 400bhp..... V12.... and an Alfa - this is what they should be making!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,152 ✭✭✭26000 Elephants

Not sure if the coupe part would work, but didn't the coupe engine come from the integrale?

Looks like they are a different engine:

Coupe turbo was 175A1.000 or 175A4.000
    16v integrales were 831D5.000, 831E5.000 or 831.000

some of those engines looked similar, but had different valve sizes and types, chambers, etc.
But the whole emgine would be more or less interchangeable (mounts, bellhousing,,,)

For an integrale to be worth big money it would want to be unmolested and original.

And kept in a garage and never thrown into bends...where's the fun in that. You can't have a car as an investment and drive it regularly, well you can, but you won't make much money on it

Precisely. As long as your not trying to speculate on the value, or an anal classic car nut, that 'grale could be a good option. But I'd probably pay a few grand more and get one that has been cherished, even if a bit used. :-)

    That's almost M3 money for a 9 year old 4 cylinder E46.

Worth 4 grand at a stretch

Looks good alright & those 9000's have a reputation for being hardwearing buggers.

Definitely worth a post in Bangernomics too Foxhole :)

Edit: for anyone interested, just be aware that vehicle changed hands on 6/8/14.

Fiat Chroma, Alfa 164 ,Lancia Thema,;)

all great cars in their time with plenty of powerful turbo models.

According to the Alfa investors release, fiat wished they never made the 164....
Something along the lines of trying to make a croma look like an Alfa, which moved it away to the old alfa traditionals.

Yeah I check done deal most days. That one is basically what I want apart from being auto. The body could be a bit cleaner and the engine bay could do with a tidy up but these are small things if the car is mechanically sound.

I'm starting to think it's about time to take the plunge and just buy one. You could be forever hanging around for the perfect example! Unless you're going to reconsider :p

yeah but neither of them were fiat engines. The twinspark was (8v ts makes sense, 16 doesn't) as was the jtd. even though it'd have less power, there are days I wish my gtv had that beautiful alfa twin cam....id even settle for a lampredi in it.
I wonder does clarkson still think the 32 in 8.32 stands for 3.2 L :pac:
I agree on the busso as well, already ranked by some as the greatest v6, sadly the same can't be said about its successor. Such a beautiful engine note and the pull :D
While I like the 164 (shock horror, I like most alfas), it did lose some of that alfaness and Id have a 75 3.0 before a 164.

I loved my 164s both were 2.0 8v thought they were a big step up from the 1.8 8v and 2.0 8v 155s it replaced for me felt more refined and comfy and just as capable down a back road ... I had two 75s too both 2.0 8v great cars i love the linear power curve and torque of the smooth motor. driven plenty of sexy glorious busso-ed alfas but i coulnt afford the tax on on a 2.5 or bigger sadly:eek:

pretty much, unless you're willing to import yourself. that one is nice, i reckon the auto is tolerable for a daily driver unless you are planning on modifying it for big power. there does be a squeaky clean one pop up every so often from out of the woodwork, most are pre-facelift though.

finally got some sheltered storage sorted for mine. thought i was going to have to leave it outside but i got lucky. it's out of tax and test and under many covers :) i'l look forward to fettling it over the Christmas break.

Definitely not a 1 owner car as that is a UK import.
Speaking of 164s, I have always had an inkling to have at some stage a V6 turbo.
I've only ever seen one and the take off would leave most things these days behind.

I'd love a busso turbo, you can't really get better than that. A gtv 2.0 turbo sold here back in the middle of the recession for under 2k....good look finding another one at that price. They go for some money on the mainland.

It might have had something to do with my ridiculously low offer, I was only chancing my arm though, hoped to either turn it into a track car or strip it. The fact that it'd been in ireland for a few years without being vrtd made it worthless as a road car

The carb alfa 6 v6 is undoubtedly the best sounding car, bar none. I had an all too brief affair with a 156 v6 that i picked up on ebay for £900 a few years ago. It had a home made autocorse clone exhaust that made it sounds almost as good. The previous owner had fitted it, along with gta brakes, carbon induction, cremadura bonnet and grill and painstakingly powder coated the cam covers in white with red lettering.
It was ironic that it was the brakes that caused its demise ( my running out of talent aside) Great when they are warm, but just dont work cold.

I wont see another one like it for some time (OH has long memory)
