This may come off as a public servant bashing thread and im not usually a person that likes to see people made unemployed but is there not a case for the goverment to step in and remove the person/persons responsible for this enormous error?

At the end of the day this country is up to its neck in dept and the countries finances have never been under greater scrutiny yet somehow this kind of error can occur. We are continualy being told about the calibre of people working in the dept of finance is second to none yet something of this nature can occur. Its frustrating watching the same people make mistakes over and over yet nothing is done to change the system in place or the people pushing the buttons.
