    Email below, received regarding the Dublin Docklands Christmas Market for 2011.

    I think alot more of these markets and events will go teh same way, due to the ridiculous fees they charge for traders to attend.

    Dear trader,

    with this mail we have to tell you, that we cancelled the Christmas market at the Dublin Docklands.

    After the mail from VSC Events on October 26th to many of you, we have very much cancellations of bookings.
    It´s very expensive to organize a high quality event like the “18 days to Christmas” and we have to rely on the income of rent. It´s one of the biggest refinancing parts in our calculation. We have to generate about 150,000.00€ only from income of rent and at the moment we haven’t reached fifty percent of the sum.
    And after the great loss we had with the event in 2010 (nearly 50,000.00€) we decided to cancel the market in 2011, because with this requirements we don’t see ourselves in the position to manage the event to yours and ours satisfaction and we are unable to keep the quality standard on the needed level.

    We hope, you understand this problem and we looking forward to work together with you in 2012.
    We will be in Dublin in December to fix the date for the Christmas market in 2012 and then we give you information as soon as possible.
