If you'd read the thread you would've known i'd alreadt recognised that concept albums existed before St.Pepper. I never at any point said they invented the concept album or were the first to produce one.

Ah man,was hoping you'd get it;)

    Foo Fighters

    Coldplay

    RHCP

    Kings of Leon

    The Killers

Just all so very, very bland and uninteresting imo.

If these bands were a colour it would be beige.

And what's that got to do with me?

I got arsey because the OP said that he liked The Beales, but thought they were over rated because John Lennon was a dick! Forgive me if I think that thought process might be a bit flawed!

Seems you didn't read the thread. Or my post. Or if you read both then you completely missed the point.

I never denied that concept albums existed before St.Pepper, but it was St.Pepper which popularised them!

I've made this ppoint earlier in the thread so, again, you haven't been reading the thread either.

i think you might need to calm down a bit!

    I didnt say that

Bon Jovi - absolute rubbish. Unoriginal rawk and roll

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,708 ✭✭✭✭Ally Dick

    RHCP

They're sh!t. Anthony Kiedis has a terrible voice. Him, Flea and Chad Smith are nearly 50, yet they sing and act like they are teens. Ridiculous. Every album they do gets simpler and simpler. Live they are pants too

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,325 ✭✭✭ItsAWindUp

Flea from the RHCP is incredibly overrated, people speak of him in revered tones as if he's the best bassist ever, whereas in fact he's incredibly average.

Any boy band out there who never play instruments or served their apprenticeships in the pubs and clubs for 4 or 5 years before having success handed to them .

The Beatles don't come into this as they like many other 60's groups ...

1 played around UK / Hamburg for 4 years in sweaty dives and lived in even worse accommodation before hittting the big time .

2 they played their instruments .

3 wrote all their own music .

4.They could really sing to .

You may find yourself expunged from planet earth for taking The Bosses name in vain..... read the lyrics, and when you've been imprisoned for blasphame, you can read some of Bob's too- True enlightenment.;)

Oasis are certainly not overrated.Just think of the music out today

Mumford and Sons and Ed Sheeran should be held accountable for allowing skangers to think they're indie. Mumford are/were flavour of the month too. Hopefully that red-haired fellah will be the same.

Snow Patrol must be the most annoying band of all time, I had heart palpitations during that song just say yes during the part where that femmy lead singer keeps repeating "for god's sake dear, for god's sake dear". How in the name of christ could anybody like that bollocks??

Alot of their work post Morning Glory is actually underrated imo. People seemed to write them off after Be Here Now.

The Boss is pub rock. Dylan never heard of a chorus. Woefully boring monotonous tunes

And rightly so. Noel Gallagher is a very contemptuous Beatles "cut and paste" merchant who is horrifically conceited, yet knocks each album after it has been released ! Liam is a poor vocalist, with no respect for his audience
