shame about the hdd shortage i could of been able to squeeze an ssd into the budget but unfortunatly the hdd costs almost 3 times more then it's normal price =/

    ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3, Sockel 1155, ATX|€116.27
    8GB-Kit Corsair Vengeance blau PC3-12800U CL9|€43.10
    Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 Ti, 1GB GDDR5, PCI-Express|€187.65
    WD Caviar Blue 1TB SATA 3 6Gb/s|€129.00

yup they'll all work grand with eachother altho i would suggest getting the pro co version of the the freezer 13 rather then the plain version as it's it's larger so it'll be alot more quieter and will keep your cpu alot cooler, other then that your as good as gold.
btw will ya need any help putting this together?

Edit: Just noticed the motherboard is now out of stock so if you want to order these right away i'd suggest getting this board instead:

Thinking of building my first PC too but don't really know much about it, do you need a sound card too to add to everything else in the list above? or does the sound come from the motherboard and will it be good quality for 5.1 speakers?

hardwareversand are reliable and one of the most linked to sites on this particular forum when it comes to components.

IrishMetalHead can you recommend a graphics card for about 90euro?

Would this fit ok with the rest of components?

computer arrived i put it together connected it to a monitor and nothing it turns on works and sounds like its doing something but nothing happens i put in win 7 and all but nothing any ideas?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,710 ✭✭✭Monotype

Did you connect the monitor to the graphics card and not the onboard (actually I'm not sure how it works with Z68 boards, given that they switch, but try both)?

  • Registered Users Posts: 40 dooley1001

i used a differnt plug however cus it came with a 2 pin from germany but the thing is the one it came with is 16amp and in ireland we only get 13amp would that make a difference if so would a 2pin to 3 pin adapter work or am i far from the rpoblem

Any kettle-type lead is fine, they'll all work.

What did you plug into the monitor / computer to get the monitor working?

(A full-stop or two is always healthy as well.)

  • Registered Users Posts: 40 dooley1001

i plugged to computer into the monitor via vga.

The motherboard's VGA port or the Graphics card's VGA port? Does the motherboard speaker beep when you boot up the computer.

  • Registered Users Posts: 40 dooley1001

the graphic card vga port and no beep fans gpu fans spin however

It doesn't sound like its POSTing.

    Try reseating the RAM.
