Are you talking about the original series that was made back in the 60's? All of the series of Star Trek are out on DVD now and they mostly have slimline DVD versions available for about £10 per season on Amazon UK.

I don't like the 60's series so I never watch it. My favourite series used to be the Next Generation but Deep Space Nine became really good after about season 3. It's much darker, I really like it. Voyager is ok and I have all the series on DVD but it was mostly for completeness. It doesn't really stand up very well against TNG or DS9.

DS9 has some of the best episodes of TV I have ever seen. I won't spoil them for you and tell you which episodes I'm talking about, but they're fantastic. I remember one episode in particular I was going to skip over. It was mostly based around one of the characters I found quite boring. Then at the last second I thought "stuff it, watch it anyway". Boy, was I glad I didn't skip it. It was quite possibly the best ever episode of any series of Star Trek, or almost any series of anything on TV.

All I will say is that it's a DS9 episode. Jaw dropping, it was fantastic.
