Decent number of worthy winners which is surprising.

Couple of personal gripes though...

Why didn't Street Fighter IV not even get a nomination for Best Fighting Game?

Technically speaking, Crysis is more graphical impressive than Uncharted 2. Art and camera direction wise UC2 would romp home though.

What the hell is Modern Warfare 2 doing in there? Is it simply by the virtue of copies sold? Why would they ignore the fact that MW1 is roundly regarded as the better game?

Given the huge influence Halo has had (for better or for worse, depending on your point of view) I'm astounded it only got one nomination and for Original Score at that.

Was Little Big Planet really that innovative in terms of gameplay?

On what planet could Infamous be regarded as Original Adventure Game of the Decade?

Kingdom Hearts for Original RPG? **** off.

I can't speak for any other game, but the fighting game catagories are very bad.

I know ultimately awards are only opinions, but really...

First of all, some of the nominees for original fighting game aren't fighting games.

God hand's a fun game but an FG it is not.

And where are Guilty Gear and Blaz Blue, which are arguably the two best
original franchises of the last decade? I don't even like them myself all that much but BB has a roaring tournament scene, it's a huge glaring omission.

And then in the best fighting game sequel, Street Fighter 4, the game which basically brought the entire genre back to life single handedly isn't even nominated?

Or even it's widely acclaimed sequel Super SSFIV?

When Mario Kart Double Dash and Wii sports resort are winning awards you've got to be skeptical.

I keep feeling that one of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games should have won something. Art Direction or Graphics, Technical or Lighting/Texturing. Definitely for the lighting, maybe not for the texturing...

Can agree with most of the winners except for a few. Anything Kingdom Hearts won is a joke. Best Costume Design? Nomuras designs are a joke. Best Roleplaying game? Not in a world where Persona 3 and 4 exist.

Street Fighter 4 being omitted from fighting games is an absolute crime.

Also best animation to Okami? It's good but compared to how influential and innovative the animation used in shadow of the colossus and how amazingly the colossi and argo are animated in Shadow of the Colossus,it's poor form that it didn't win this category.
