Was just wondering what all you AH'ers 'claims to fame' are (if you have any at all)

Was thinking about this and the best I can prob come up with is that I played football against Ireland & Sunderland defender John O'Shea a couple of times and I shared a few drinks with Shane Macgowan (I'm sure he recalls the night with great fondness ) Both pretty piss poor I know but if you start a thread you need to contribute.

I'm sure some of ye have some real good ones so lets be hearing them plz and no retorts of "OP my claim to fame is I did yore ma" eetc etc

Oh, oh I thought of another one, Biggins once thanked a post of mine :pac:

I know a family where the son has the same name as my father and the father has the same name as me!!

The IRA, or their followers, burnt out a truck of ours in the north once.

I used to see Ryan Tubridy about, before he did the Late Late. As he'd be walking down the street I'd be staring at him as he passed me with a big confused head on me wondering where I knew him while he'd be staring right back at me wondering why I was staring at him! It happened at least twice!

My Dad knew Paul Hill (of the Guilford Four) back in the day, and when I was born, he and his wife Courtney Kennedy (Bobby Kennedy's daughter) came to our house and I was held by both of them.

Yep, that's about it. I've never met anyone famous that I can recall.

I met Brendan Gleeson in Dublin Airport once, he was sitting next to my Mum but I wasn't sure it was him, so I went online on the computers nearby and on to IMDB and compared photos of him there with photos of him in the airport.

Then we got on the plane and who was sitting in front of us, but Brendan.
Got his autograph ( on a napkin:P), this at a time when I was huge into Harry Potter.,, That and he is a great actor.

I was also in a short film on tv.

Was walking by St Paul's cathedral in London and getting ready to cross the road by one of those zebra crossing yolks when I spotted one of those vintage Rolls Royce cars with the little flags on the bonnet that the Royals use coming down the road,so I stood there to see if there was anyone in the back.
The Queens mother was sitting in the back and as she was passing she spotted me and leant forward on her seat and gave me a big olde wink and a wave.I liked her after that.

Colm Meaney walked by my mam and my dad and goes to his wife "Jesus look theres *my dads name* honey", my da just smiled and walked on until my mother had to tell him who it was! My dad was a decent jockey at the time and Meaney was an avid racing fan!

My grandad also trained Arkle for any of you old enough to remember that far back in racing days!

Met author Edna OBrien in Galway, she spotted me doing Christy Moores greatest hits with the bodhran, whilst busking on High Street. She based a busking character on me for her book Down By The River. Also TG4 based one of the Postcard programmes on me from a postcard I participated in during the mid 90s, John Spillane presented the programme.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Very true, worked for two years as front of House in a theatre and the above statement is very true. Actually forgot all the famous peoples I met while working there, you stop taking notice after a while.
