Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dublin is surprisingly out in front.

Anyone know of any reasons for this?

The most populated city is in front and you find this surprising?

    Roscommon

We finally got a proper cinema in the damn county again after a few decades.

It's probably just a big tele, though. :pac:

Nope not at all its where you grew up in my opinion it's not necessarily where you were born either.

Also aware that this was not directed at me in particular but I sense from the comments the idea of what defines being from a place varies quite a bit.

no we need a village its how Ireland works
But I've never lived in a village... A town is the smallest I've gone! I'm never sure how to define where I'm from anyways.

certainly not, you're a half jack
I don't know what a half jack is. But UrbanDictionary says it's a person who's gender confused.
I might not be sure where I'm from, but I definitely know what gender I am!!

I have no idea what this means either. Clearly it's a day for obscure phrases.
Maybe if I knew where I was from, I'd know what that meant...?
Have you considered that where you are from is not necessary where you live....
I totally agree with that, I live in France but I'm clearly not French. But often when someone asks where I'm from (when I'm in Ireland) I reply that I live in Kildare. It's easier than explaining the whole spiel.

Parts of Limerick are awful and parts of Dublin are awful. Other parts of Limerick are lovely and some parts of Dublin are lovely.
Every county has it's share of good and bad I think.
