Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

DVD player freezing

    Hi,
I have a Philips DVD player thats served me great over the last few years, its a LX3600. The problem now is that it intermittently stalls in the middle of a movie - the image freezes on the screen and there's no response from the remote. Also, movies don't seem to load to the main menu when you insert the disc - they just load to the player default screen as if there was no dvd loaded - you have to use the remote to get to the home screen of the dvd. I've checked multiple disc's, which all work fine on other players
I'm unfamiliar with repairing DVD players. Is it worth getting this looked at? Is there an equivalent to the cleaning tapes that used to work on VHS players?
    Thanks
    Kelbal

If I was you, I'd just buy a new one. Its cheaper these days to buy new than get a repair.

I agree - but it's part of a surround sound system, and you can't buy a DVD player on its own that the amplifier built in, you can only buy the full kit with speakers etc. So I could buy another player - but I'd have no surround sound then. Or if I did buy a whole new system, i couldn't route the speker cables - they're going under floor boards etc. So ideally I'd like to just get the existing player going again
