Boards.ie Battlefield 3 Server

    So, I've convinced the boss that paying for 6 months worth of a BF3 server is a good idea and I've just sorted it all out. I've purchased a 48 man server with a 64 man Mumble voice server attached from Multiplay.co.uk.

    So in order to make the most of this, I'd like people interested in playing on it, please give an "On" or "Off" on the following questions:
    • AutoBalance
    • Friendly Fire
    • Regenerate Health
    • KillCam
    • MiniMap
    • Mini Map Spotting
    • HUD
    • Cross Hair
    • 3D Spotting
    • Name Tag
    • 3rd Person Vehical Cam
    • Vehical Spawn
    • Only Spawn on Squad Leaders
    On top of that, I'm thinking RUSH and CONQUEST are the 2 best Game Mods to alternate through, so please list your preferred maps for these 2 game modes. It seems I can have either one or the other mode enabled, so for the moment, I'm going to just log in and manually switch mode every morning when I get into work, but if people vote overwhelmingly for one mode over another, then we'll stick with that.

    It also gives us options of running special events on a night.

    When we get all these configuration issues squared away, I'll post the details of the server for everyone to add to their favourites list ;) I'm just about to leave the office and so will be online from my gaming machine at home this evening trying things out. I'd be much obliged if there were some of you online this evening willing to help me test things out, so I'll pop back to the thread later and see who's about :)

    To explain the logic I was applying, I suggest turning some of the more noob friendly aspects i.e. health regeneration and crosshairs, restoring the function and value of the squad leaders, through squad leader spawning, but without removing any functionality such as spotting.

    That would be my only change other wise looks great to me

    People might actually heal team mates now with no health regeneration

    That's fair, the only thing I'd say to that would be that crosshairs have been a staple in the BF series from the off.

    I can live with everything else, although I'd ideally prefer to be able to spawn on any squad member.

    +1 on Spear.

    Will there be an option to donate? I think there are servers that have a set number of slots (1-4) that are free for people who own/donate to them to get on to the server instantly if the server were to be full.

    I might be wrong on what I said though :P

    I dont mind what settings are on the server. I do like the idea of no health regen though and the squad leader spawning. Deffo Conquest Large for me too

    I would prefer normal standart game with kill cam turned off.

    Just please no hardcore as it will be "boards.ie bastard sniper bananza"...
