Good win lads, a much more assured performance. We took our chances and kept a clean sheet.

A chance to put down a marker next week against the Monks.

solid second half performance and could have had 2 or 3 more. first half was even enough but i dont think we were ever going to lose that, they only really had one decent chance in the entire game. poor enough conditions made good football hard at times.

Delighted to hear it lads, great to get some more points on the board and sounds like the performance shows we're headed in the right direction.

Next week is a crunch match against the Monks: win that and it just proves that the league is still very much up for grabs. It'll clash with the Ireland v Estonia game which is a pity but not a problem. Much as I love supporting Ireland, I didn't even had to think about it before turning down a free ticket offer today, and have no doubt even is up for it and we'll have a good turnout next week.

Thanks again to Ed for playing - another performance, another clean sheet :D

I think changes made at halftime made a big difference. They were taking advatange of space in behind in the first half with their pace.

They were truly awful in the air for such a tall side. Any high ball or cross brought about a chance and importantly the first goal. A few other crosses brought great chances and woodwork hits. Ed looked bored out of his tree in the second half..:pac:

    Great win lads.

2nd half performance in particular was very good. Once we pinned them back & moved up the field as a team together we then started playing it in their half & knocking the ball around like we know we can. It was a wet slippery night & was tough in the first half but once we all got our first touch & looked for a teammate to pass too they had no response to it.

Special mention to back 4 & Ed in nets who were quality all match and Gary Smith making his 2nd appearance for boards at left back looked like he has been playing there for years.

This is a long season ahead of us & lots of things can happen so a big win next Tuesday opens it all up again.

Like Jules playing for boards or watching Ireland was never even a question in my book.

    See you next week :)

Also Lads the Irish match kicks off at 7.45pm on the Tuesday.

The Coach House Pub is right at entrance to Wesley. Nice pub.

Some of us will head straight there after our match to catch full 2nd half if anyone else is interested & does not want to miss any of it due to long journey home.

Well done all round last night lads.
By no means the polished performance but way better than we have been the previous few weeks.
I think the big difference was we were aware of the things we did wrong in the first half and took the points made at half-time on board. We improved on those areas in the second half and it showed with how we dominated the match after the restart. We saw the match out well and didnt retreat or invite them on to us which we've done too often in the closing stages of games in the past.

Gary did a great job in at LB, and another flawless performance from Ed in goals. Cheers for coming out lads.
