Nice easy run with couple lads after work (8pm)
Nice to have compant that late in the evening.Evening was perfect for running.
Calf improved after light rub last night but still 3-4 days away from doing any quality run.Have planned my first mountain run on sunday with couple of clonliffe and Rathfarnam runners.

surely a run in the hills would do nothing for a dodgy calf

+1 especially given your recent injury woes. Would you not just take it easy for a few days?

Are you following a training plan for Connemara? Serious mileage you're putting down. Remember one of the lads telling me during the summer he was doing 90 - 95 miles one week, he never made the DCM start line...

Yeah that's my thinking. Making the start line having done 90% of what you planned is better than not making the start line but having done 100% of your planned training.

No, pity that. I'm the weekend babysitter so just run when I get a window. You better get use to it yourself ;)

yes everyone keeps telling me that
Im doing it late after work, but you will probably be still babaysitting.let me know if u are around any day next week.

yes everyone keeps telling me that

Wouldn't worry about it. I was told the same and have ran most of my road pbs in the last 2 years. You might have to be a bit more flexible with your training times but you'll find once you've got an hour free to run you'll be out the door in a flash rather than hanging around wasting time.

Was debating wether to run in the morning after work. After a poor nights sleep my decision was made.
Work was mental bust but managed to have soem healthy food around 2pm.

Left work around 6.30 and was slightly downhill, the plan was 2mile warm up and 5miles @ 6.34 pace and see how I felt with the next 5miles after being slightly faster 6.05-10 pace.

After first mile in 6.41 i decided to start with a smaller warm up.
First mile was 6.28 2nd 6.22 and was tripping over myself.
    Mile 3 6.22 mile 4 6.12 mile 5 6.03(downhill) mile 6 5.57 mile 7 6.03 mile 8 6.00 mile 9 6.00 mile 10 6.00 3mile cool down @ 7.30 pace.

home for some fresh vegtables, steak and spuds.
followed by x magnums and a nice bar of caramello :)
i figure I will burn it all off tmrw with along run !!!

Great running there, youre flying. Was that loop: Taylors, mast, kilmashogue, Taylors? The stretch from masts to kilmashogue is a great gradient for stretching the legs out.

Are the lads targetting a marathon also?

yes that was the route, unlike runs I have done before I paced this one well and felt strong.Brian is training for Rotterdam and Michael is just training for cross country.
couple of easy days coming up now and well deserved.give me a txt if you are around for a run during the week.

Wasn't in the mood of running tonight but started off with 2miles easy.

Decided to have a format for my Fartlek raqther than random surges.
So decided on 2mins reps with 1minute recovery.
    Pace was controlled without straining.
Early on struggling mentally and was around 5.50 pace with job recovery in 7.10-40 pace
After a few reps and hitting the canal with no one or dodgy footpaths I found a nice rhythm.
    Started to run 5.35-40 pace.

Did 20 x 2mins with 1 min recovery and 3 mile cool down.
