Got held up in work, late rush with customers.Had planned an hour run but with my father in law minding EJ I had no option but to just jog the 30mins home(better than nothing)
Tommorow isa another busy evening so will struggle to fit the run in.

Have commited to run Dublin Senior cross in less than three weeks time.
Been 4+ years since I ran one but with no sessions I need to start uppingmy level in training soon.

Hadn't ran for a few days and loosing focus.Tough weekendworking at the expo and a heavy night out Saturday.
A drunken bet was made and i decided to line up for Dublin.

The plan was to sitin behind the 3hour pacers and get around under 3hours.
Everythign was great up until the south circularroad where i became impatient and started to pass people.
Before I knew it i was up with Paddy who was hoping for 2.45 around the back of the zoo.
i soon passed a large group including Gary and the buggy and was running what seemed like sub 6 minute pace.
    A few shockers made for this marathon;
1.No training and no long runs
    2.No breakfast
3.Wore a pair of racers that would be perfect for a half but not the full(mizuno universe)
    4.no watch
I continued on and caught Mr Condon and had a quick chat before spinning down out of Chapelizod.
As I got to half way this was the first time I realisedifI didnt slow down I wasn't going to finish.I did have it in my mind to run to20miles and drop out but problem was I had no way of getting back.

Halfway reached in 79.58 and 20miles reached in 2.04
The rest is a blur tobe honest,I remeber stopping for jellies and to stretch my calfs out a few times.
The struggle tothe finish was cruel and a clubmate helfmy handto get metothe finish.I crashed into the barriers once and my quads began to cramp when I tried to raisethe pace upthe homestraight.

I will be back for more but will be prepared next time :)

Legs in a jock and plan arun to work tommorow

Well done Kevin. Couldn't believe it when I looked behind me, and saw you bearing down on myself and the Cork lad. One hell of a training run. Good experience too, as you'll know how hellish the last few miles can be for your proper go at it. Can't wait to see what you can run when you do the training. It's going to be spectacular.

Is that the race in Gowan? I've heard it is basically 8 miles of climbing. Sounds nasty.
