    Bit weird, but - Mothballs.
Some kind of powdery balls that they used to use to stop moths eating holes in clothes.
    Reminds me of my granny's.
Whenever I get anything from her, it smells of mothballs.
I could smell that smell all day.

    Ok,

The rules are, you only get three picks.

So, I'm going to go for:

    1) Turf burning

    2) Coffee brewing

    3) Bread baking

I would have gone for the smell of talcum powder off a baby, but I'm a single man with no interest in being arrested.

So, AHers what smells do it for ya?

    Choco

    Steak frying with onions.

Freshly saved, dry hay in a field on a warm summers day.

The smell of a well worn pub when it opens at the start of a day, stale beer in the floorboards, turf fire on, the lingering smell of people from last night. Its more of a feeling really, combined with walking on the worn floor, the saggy furniture, huge cushioned stool and the hiss of the Guinness tap with the Sunday papers under my arm.

Honourable mentions to coffee, hot chocolate, the sea and the whiff of perfume off my ex's skin first thing in the morning.

    The sea at the coast.

Nice. Rotting seaweed I believe. The sea has no smell. Kills the romance knowing that though.

I like the old predictable lavender and cinnamon myself.

    Strawberry candles
Tar when it is being put down
Sulphur (if you like sulphur and want the ultimate sulphur smell, erupting volcanos are the place to be.)
    Salad sandwiches

    Freshly dried clothes.
The salty smell off a fire.
Walking past the hairdressers and the smell that comes out of there is fantastic.

The smell you used to get in a video rental shop. It diminished when the transition to dvd completed and has been obliterated now because there's only xtravision and they all stink of cheap popcorn.

The inside of my hardshell rickenbacker bass case smells similar and also very nice.

Best of all, my Fiancée's scent (from her neck/hair). Call me a big softie (or worse) all you want but it smells like home :)

that great but sort of weird smell you get when you get back to your house for the first time when youve been on holidays for a while:)
    xtravsion -so warm and popcorny:D
when you walk past a laundromat that really humid but great detergenty smell.
    bakery smell, and fresh bread.
and my all time favourite smell is the smell you get off some foams- like off these and a few other foam objects you get the smell i love-http://tatp.edb.utexas.edu/images/ADL_writing_clip_image019.jpg
Is that a weird favourite smell?
