How to quit game on xbox 360

Hi Guys, Am i missing something really stupid but how do you quit after playing a BF3 game on the xbox. once you finish a game, you get your points then you must wait till next game begins to quit (which you get punished if quit to many games) or hit the xbox button and go back to xbox dashboard? It's a definite pain alright! They need to patch that, and soon. Also, it would be nice to be able to switch guys / kits in the waiting screen, a la COD.
