Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A white Toyota DYNA ,partial reg 98 C caught on CCTV stealing old gates and iron from my sheds. I missed them by an hour or so but they were in and out in 4 minutes. Kilmaley/Lissycasey area of Clare. Detectives came out within 1/2 hr and are following up. It was at 12.30pm-bit of a cheek in broad daylight. Make a point of calling in any unknown vehicle regs-gardai are happy to check them out.

I have seen that Van knocking around....It does call to the local tractor garage near the Kilmaley hall now and again..It will be very easy to track down. Get the guads to go the full hog with the investigation. There is too much of this going on.

I hope the video is clear and good enough for court evidence. Be careful what is posted here in case it compromises any court case.

One of the issues here is the backward system in this country used for looking up reg plate numbers - as far as I know they need the exact reg and can't look up a match for say a red Dyna with a reg of say 98D 14xx7 where x is unknown, even if there is only one possibility in the system. Absolutely backward!

Anyway, would recommend you get a computer nerd to double check the CCTV in case it is possible to make out the full reg over a few frames, or by applying image sharpening filters. Also, it's worth approaching any business or property nearby that might have a camera on the road that the thieves would probably have passed to or from your place in case they caught the reg.

Note that the obvious assumption here is that the reg on the Dyna was not a false one, something that this country doesn't do enough checking on..

There was an item on 'this sort of thing' on Newstalk at some point yesterday; the 'slack practices' and no-questions-asked cash-in-hand business practices of many scrap metal dealers doesn't do much for curbing this sort of activity either. :(

Appreciate where you are coming from but the occupants were identified as travellers by a local.
