Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know if your ticket is checked after you pay for it and get on the bus...in case you em...missed your stop accidentally...on...purpose?

Yes. I was on the bus yesterday and the inspector told the driver to stop the bus as a guy hadn't paid full fare. They let him off just outside a very bad estate and as we looked back we could see a gang(possibly scumbags:eek:) attack him.

    RIP

The driver may realise as you come to the front of the bus that you overstayed your ticket, they may keep the doors closed and call the Garda to deal with the theft.

Why not just pay the proper fare? Or walk?

Probably not, although if the driver remembers that you should have got off at an earlier stop you might have a problem.

just make sure you don't buy the ticket for a stop where no one else is getting off. If you pick an unusual stop he might remeber you and stop especially for you.

Inspectors usually loom on the most popular routes, like the 101 and the 109

These are Bus Eireann routes, so he must be talking about going across the country. I usually pay my full Dublin/Sligo fare, but just in case I'm cheeky, I might pay to go to Longford and no ones the wiser. :D
