Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The cream of Ireland’s amateur photography will be on show in Ballyfermot this Sunday, November 13th when camera clubs the length and breadth of the country battle it out for the National Shield Title.
From Mallow to Mullingar, Cork to Celbridge, camera clubs from around the country will gather in the Civic Centre in Ballyfermot this Sunday for one of the biggest competitive events in the amateur photography calendar in Ireland.
The National Shield is a major annual inter-club competition run by the Irish Photographic Federation and for anyone interested in the art of photography the event is well worth a visit.
The event, which is being hosted by Satsun Camera Club, not only provides a platform to showcase the talents of dozens of photography enthusiasts from across the country, it also features a number of guest talks by prominent photographers.
On the day awarding winning wildlife and surfing photographer George Karbus will give a talk about his work along the west coast of Ireland, while Scott and Catherine MacBride will provide an insight into the creative process.
The event will also include the launch of the Photography Ireland Yearbook, a wonderful collection of images drawn from the vast pool of photography talent both north and south of the border.
The yearbook is produced by the IPF in association with the Northern Irish Photography Association (NIPA) and will be available to purchase on the day.
The National Shield event is open to members of the public on a first come first served basis and a small entrance fee of €5 applies.
For more information and full programme details log onto the IPF website at http://www.irishphoto.ie or the federation’s Facebook page.

National Shield is a well respected event within the camera club circuit, so I'm sure we'll be hearing from some familiar names!

Do leave a note if anyone is attending this year, always nice to talk to other photog boardsies et all.

I'll be there from about 2.00pm. Have a couple of shots in the DCC panels. First time at any IPF event :-)

Best of luck Adrian. Think there's a few from Navan going up. Won't be there myself as there's juicy fat pheasants to be shot :)

Thanks Denis. So you'll still be shooting, whilst not shooting - but still looking at other shots, no doubt!

+1 Well done to Adrian. Both your mono and colour shots received good comments from the judges as well as people viewing the boards.
