    I'm thinking of buying this Acer Travelmate 5740 Core i3 €388. It's has an intel core i3 380M rating on cpubenchmark is here. Will be used for ms office, internet and skype.

    I've bought from laptopsdirect.ie before and had no issues. Just wanted to run it by here first before I buy.

    Should do you fine.

    Edit: Actually see if you can't find one with 4GB ram. That is the minimum really these day's for smooth running.
