We've just found out that, for a host of reasons, from the new year our book club can no longer meet at our regular venue, a community centre in a small town.
Because our group averages twelve people or so per meeting, meeting in someone's house isn't really a viable option.

In scouting about for ideas where we can meet, would people who are part of any reading groups care to share what type of venue they gather in for meetings? Also, have people tried certain places and found them unsuitable?

Ideally a venue with mimimal charges would be needed. Is a bar or a hotel the only options or are groups meeting in more imaginative locations? Unfortunately our library can't accommodate us at the moment.

If this request is ok with the Mods, we'd be delighted to hear what other groups are doing.
