    Hi Guys and Girls,

First off i would like to apologise for what i shall call teething problems which hopefully have now been resolved .

Regarding whats happening going forward classes will be running on a daily basis from 7pm and as the demand increases i will add times to this until the 5th of March when the full schedule will officially begin . as and from then there will be class based sessions and open hours on offer to all members once an initial introductory course has been completed ( this is mandatory for every new member regardless of fitness level as it will give us a chance to get to know everybody and their needs ) .

As regarding free passes i will be running a free session every Saturday so people can see what we do all welcome ! So keep an eye on the Website and the Facebook Page for the times and dates of all our events .

WesternFitness, I've removed some spam from your post as signing up to promote a business is strictly not allowed.

Do keep posting - but restrict it to only answering questions about the gym.
Any promotion on your part will be removed. No other gyms gets to advertise here so the same goes for you.

Actually just to update on biko's post, WesternFitness please do not post on Boards again until you have contacted the guys in the office about a verified rep account. This is required for all business accounts on boards. The e-mail address is reps@boards.ie

    Thanks

For anyone who is interested in giving Western Fitness a go, I went to the free class this afternoon. The facility is basically a big open space (think secondary school gym) and there is a large selection of kettlebells. The workout consisted of a warm up, three timed parts, and then a cool down. I have to say the workout was unreal. I was pushed the hardest I have been in a long time and my legs are aching as we speak. My boyfriend came along for some fun. He is extremely fit yet struggled at the end! The instructor was knowledgeable and corrected technique often. A definite recommend from me! Or at least try out the free class and form your own opinion :)

I dont work for them, Im a member so would best to contact them directly..

The fundamental course is a 3 week (2 class a week) coures, which you have to do before you can join as a crossfit member. It covers the basics like different lifts, box jumps, gymnastics, etc...

There is also a WOD (Work out of the Day) at each class thne using with "fundamentals" you just learned about..

    Taken from their website...

    "Fundamentals Course
Before becoming a full-fledged CrossFit Galway member we require all new members to fully complete our fundamentals course.

The Fundamentals is for anyone new to CrossFit Galway regardless of fitness, experience or background.

The fundamentals are an introduction to CrossFit.

Each session lasts 50mins to an hour and you will complete a total of 6 compulsory sessions held 2 evenings per week before becoming a Member of CrossFit Galway

    Our Schedule is as follows

All Fundamentals courses start on the first Tuesday of each Month and last 3 weeks, the rest of the month is free to jump into any class(must book).

There are 6 compulsory sessions that you must attend before becoming a member.

The Must attend classes are held on Tuesday & Thursday at 8pm with a Free Friday class held at 7pm each week for 3 weeks, the remainder of the month is free to try further classes.

Over the course of the Six sessions you will cover the 9 fundamental movements and numerous other skills used in CrossFit.

You will spend time learning the mechanics skills and technique of what we do. Once we are confident there is consistency to perform the mechanics, we then introduce intensity. Each session you will be introduced to the workout of the day or WOD as we call it. These will gradually increase in difficulty over the six sessions. The reason we do this is to ensure all members training at CrossFit Galway know how to execute movement correctly and safely.

If you miss any of the 6 Compulsory Fundamentals classes you can attend the same day the following Month or alternatively Book a One to One to cover this session(check for Pricing & Availability)

To help you get the best learning experience for the fundamentals course there are a Maximum of 6 Pupils to One Instructor.
