If I want to sit on my hands and be sexually frustrated I can do that at home for free.

You're going to the wrong lapdancing clubs ;)

You'll have to define "real man" for me!

How about male lap dancers who have to perform in front of 40-60 y/o women? Apparently they get a lot of sexual harassment, both verbal and physical. Do you know how much that denigrates those men?

We are talking about lap dancers in those clubs, where it costs 250eu for private dance ( its a dance, not a **** fest, try to touch her and you will be draged out with quite a few missing teeth).

Holy feck some people have more money than sense

I have to laugh how its dirty and sleazy for men to go to a lap dancing club, but harmless fun when those male strip groups come to town for the ladies to go wild.

From what i have heard a lot more goes on at them then is ever allowed at a lap dancing club
Yeah I hate that crap. Seeing male strippers is more of a fun thing, to be fair (although you couldn't pay me to go see them) but groping them? Christ - unbelievable it's accepted!
That's because us men love being pawed by women. (assuming they're half way good looking)
    Are you sure...?!

I was in a club in Bristol a few months ago. I was the only girl in the group to get a dance and I really enjoyed it. I chatted to the dancer for ages after and she was lovely, seemed very happy in her work.

I did wonder though, what next for her? She was going on 30 and looked it so surely that's nearly retirement age for a lap dancer?

OP needs to get a life. That much is certain.

    bla bla bla

Who cares? They work there, they choose it.

If I was hard-up for cash and about 2 stone lighter I'd definitely consider it as a career move!

We got ourselves another non reader of the thread. Why does the OP need to get a life? And just because you don't care, that means others don't is it?

Imagine how you would feel if you found out your sister was at it.

There's a 'pole fitness' club at the college I go to. They were doing a display at the start of the year with all the other clubs and societies. There was a guy in hot pants and a tight tshirt doing the moves on the pole.
Possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen. Only a can of wd40 could have improved the show.

What was the point of that?

What other women choose do to earn money doesn't degrade me, sorry.

What type of dick would a person have to be to look down on someone because of their job...?

Why is it fun if it's a male stripper? How do you know it's not fun when it's a female stripper?

Oh I'm not saying that's not fun, but a male strip show is generally less sexual and more about having a laugh.

Different formats. Male strip shows tend to be in a big room with a stage...comparing a Revue to a lap dance is not like for like i reckon.

I have been to some in soho and Ireland, In Soho it seemed to be sad lonely men sitting around a pole throwing their money away. I would go to one for a laugh and have a few beers with naked girls walking around, but I would not see the appeal in a dance most of em are munts anyways and just because there nearly naked men fall over them.

Never understood the attraction of strip clubs myself and can't understand how anyone gets satisfaction from them after visiting one in Newcastle many years ago when I was away with a group of lads. You are surrounded by these pretty girls, who drop 1 or 2 lines of conversation after approaching you, flutter their eye-lids and then expect you to part with your money for a crappy "dance", which lasts 2 minutes or so.

Swore I would never go back to one after that night and never have.

I noticed a trend among some of the male boardsies to be completely dismissive about any objections that people have to lap dancing clubs and how they denigrate women so I'm posting the following - not that men like that will really give a f but I'm posting anyway just to advertise that as a man I think that their attitude is bull and the following article underscores that:

here are a few highlight from the article :

"The often-rehearsed idea that lap-dancing can be empowering, or make women feel beautiful is nonsense, says Danns, when explicit insults are common. Nearly half of lap-dancers in the Leeds study reported frequent verbal harrassment and unwanted touching. "They call you names, comment on your body, or your cellulite, and certainly [I know] from other women's experiences, comment on your genitalia saying 'that's big'," Danns says. "How can you raise your self esteem through that? If you are going to take the compliments you have to take the insults."

"The often-rehearsed idea that serving fast food can be empowering, or make women feel beautiful is nonsense, says Danns, when explicit insults are common.
Nearly half of fast food employees in the Leeds study reported frequent verbal harrassment and unwanted orders. "They call you names, comment on your burger, or your chicken dippers, and certainly [I know] from other women's experiences, comment on your fries saying 'that's super size',"

Danns says. "How can you raise your self esteem through that? If you are going to take the compliments you have to take the insults."
Lapdancers, go work in McDonalds if your job is such a drag.
To be fair Mikom, nobody has ever said working in a fast food place would make a person feel beautiful or empowered, nor is there much risk of their naked bits being groped. :pac:

It happens though. I was a cleaner whilst doing my degree and was looked at by some staff as if I was dog shít flicked off their boots. I was spoken to as if I had the mental faculties of a 2 year old. So I get where that poster was coming from. The same people now would fawn over me.

most lapdancers are total skangers, is it any wonder they get insulted with the general feeling among punters of being ripped off

You would have to be pretty naive to believe that being a lap dancer is empowering - I'd agree with the general thrust of that post above in that working in fast food is ****ty and demeaning, and I know from first hand experience that you have a reasonable chance of being harassed or assaulted by the Saturday night brigade. Is being headbutted by some f**ker who didn't get his chicken fillet fast enough (seen it happen) worse than having some overexcited punter put his hand on your boob? I would think so, but reading about the former wouldn't interest people too much because.....well what do you expect if you work in such a crappy job?

I'd be much less concerned about the groping, there is after all a counter in the way, and a lot more concerned about the proximity of my bits to all those fryers with their hateful oil.
