Parents bank statements?

    Hi there,
    I have handed in my application for job seekers allowance today which I got yesterday and I was given a list of documents needed, so went in today to hand in everything and there was a different girl who I got and she asked me for parents bank statement? I provided my parents income documents to them and all, seems a bit out of the ordinary to me to be prying into my parents bank statements, I gave them my own afterall?

    Has anyone ever been asked to provide these? Would appriciate any comments on this. I'm 21 if it's relevant.
