    welcome MT.

Not sure how much you already have. His entry in Soldiers Died in the Great War reads :

    Name: William Higgins
    Birth Place: Kanturk, Co. Cork
    Death Date: 21 Oct 1915
    Death Location: France & Flanders
    Enlistment Location: Cork
    Rank: Sergeant
    Regiment: Irish Guards
    Battalion: 2nd. Battalion
    Number: 2445
Type of Casualty: Killed in action

CWGC shows 2nd Battn, age 27 (not always a reliable figure)

    http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=251696

Irish Guards records aren't online but are obtainable.

Medal cards shows entered France 17/8/1915. 1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory medal awarded
